Amazing....this rally has more people signed on than attended last year! Methinks we need more rallies....

Any thoughts in when/where? We'd most likely be up for that.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that perhaps we need another rally in this area since the demand is so high. Something at 4000-5000 feet elevation in the middle of the summer would be superb!
Count me in! I'll still bring the cookies.

Ok Mrs Mod.. you have now checked out both rally threads so we fully expect you to be attending one of them soon! Be prepared to have a excess amount of fun and yes, we will eat the cookies too.

Vinnie, Mrs. Mod just needs to secure a site before we're sold out
Hopefully she is bugging Jackson everyday asking about cancellations within the rest of the park's sites!

We'd be game, I'm looking for camping in the gold country, but higher elevations are good, anyone else? The delta rally sounds good. We camped as kids on mount Diablo, and I've looked into taking the trailer there. The hiking and biking are awesome.

There are nice campgrounds up the 'hill' from us. None with hookups or large enough for a large rally. We love Wright's Lake.

nice Neil;
after having lived in Lodi for 5 years , I for the life of me wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to camp in the delta during the summer.
The only way would be to have the trailer totally in the shade, that's just me. LL and I camp at Tahoe for 2 weeks either in july or august depending when we can get reservations.50's at night, 70-80 daytime, usually..lol
There's the catch,, trying to find anyplace that can handle a group of trailers at ANYTIME of the year. that's the problem.
I find it easier to heat the drainpipe than cool it.
I'm working on a "new" vehicle, of sorts, for basic mobility at JRRV.
think rolling fire pit

I hope our fellow 'streamer Adam is reading this: he may want to bring his turnouts and put the local engine company on call...

I've lived out here on the coast for almost 7 years now and I 'hear' Peter (Globie64) - we are dreaming of warmth, especially in the summer when the fog berries bloom and we are wearing our woolies in July/August. A few days of toasty warm in the Delta does sound good.
Love to be there with you all if we can get a spot in Jackson too.

When I lived on the coast, I felt the same about escaping the fog to sweat for a few days! I used to go to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park mid-week during the summer....and, I had the place to myself.
Now, when the Sacramento Valley heats up, I head to Bodega Bay to enjoy the natural air conditioning for a few days....in addition to ~10 days every year at Lassen Volcanic National Park, usually in August.
I recall arriving at Jackson for our annual rally TWICE, where we had the AC running the first day; then watched folks driving home on Sunday under rainy skies. You just never know what you might get there in October...

I can only imagine how hot it is for those guys fighting fires in the central valley summer heat! I spent about 18 years in Elk Grove and Sacramento and can vividly remember it being over 100 degrees for 7-10 days in a row after around the 2nd week in July till about mid September. My firehouse is doing a trip to the Stockton Delta KOA in Lodi the last week in July. At least there's a pool and the river!

Avoided it? The potato/mac salad had some SPAM for accent and I put a small plate of SPAM chunks in front of the salad in case anyone (Neil?) needed more.
Since many people don't consider it meat, it is suitable for anyone needing an extra dose of fat & salt.
