scott,

sure glad you and cyle are willing to make that 772 mile drive to jackson. it was great fun listening to cyle's free decorator advice around the campfire at casini. let's hope jackson works out as well as casini. cheers.

YES....Sign us up. We should have things squared away come October...

The Jackson Casino RV Park is great...we stayed up there last weekend in our Truck Camper, friendly people, great facility, and EVERTHING works.

The weather should be perfect in October, not too warm during the day, and cool at night...

And of course, the Jackson Casino jitney drivers come by every 20 minutes to haul those willing up the hill to face the one armed Banditos!

I guess we can 'handle' the 43 mile drive from our Casa up there to Jackson...

See you all in October...

Here's some pic's I took up at the Jackson Casino RV park a couple of weeks ago. It will be nice in a few years when the newly planted trees can provide some shade.

We were 'camping' in our Off Road SOB...soon to be offered up the aution block when our 78 Ambassador comes on line...It's too bad our F-350 isn't a Diesel, then I would have the power to hook up the AS behind and have lots of 'overflow' room for the grandkids! Now that would be a combo!

click on a pic to enlarge.

Dance?

Anyone want to have a dance on friday nite?
With the large flat concrete pads no one would twist their ankles!
or we could just hang out and get hammered- I suppose.
I know it's a long ways away, heck I might forget how to dance in the meantime.
Well back to my "Dark 'N Stormy"
143 days and counting.

Here's a couple of more pic's from the Jackson Casino RV park...we towed our 28 Ambassador up here last Friday night for the Memorial weekend...it's Monday evening as I write this, and I'm connected to their free Wifi network here.

It rained on us all day Saturday, and Sunday was overcast and still damp, but no real rain...Today was cool, but he had some bright sunshine finally! We are headed back home in the AM.

As you can see from the pic's we towed our AS up here with our old 89 Bronco...it's only got a 5.0 L gas engine, but we made it just fine, if a bit slow on the steep section coming into Jackson, but no real problems....I put a new engine it the old Bronco last year, and also installed 4.10 Diff gearing in it. I can cruise 55 mph on the flat lands...but I have to pay attention with that short wheelbase Bronco! It really handles quite well...we are looking for another TV, maybe an Excursion, as there are all kinds of deal on them these days!

Here's a shot of 'site 17' on the Western side of the Rv park...

Another shot of Site 17 and our 78 Ambassador 'doing it's thing'...

Hey Mexray,

We drove through Jackson Rancheria to scope it out for our next trip. We really liked the place too and plan on a trip up this summer. Saw your rig as well as another streamer on Friday. I don't want too many people to find this "treasure" as we will never be able to get a reservation in the future.

Mex-lookin good! Is the new gas station open yet- just below the rv place?

altamont-come on and join us!You know you like the place!

Paula and Steve- whoo hoo!

I'm working on the fire pit-looks like it'll be a 30" diameter thing- "The BTU Express". I'm trying to use some old bbq parts and a few weed killer nozzles, and a few left over Holly 4 bbl carbs, hopefully operator error will not influence the design. It'll be nice to have for the dance, lol

The new gas station was not yet open as we drove by this morning...there was a tank truck there dropping it's load!

It looks like they will open any day now...

I wonder if they will be exempt from Fed or State gas taxes as the station is on Indian Reservation property??? There is no State Sales Tax when you buy meals, etc. at their other sites on the 'Reservation'.

I'll give an update when I find out more.

Altamont...I think the cat's out of the bag already, as everybody you talk to there in the RV park wants to come back, or has been there several times already! It was sold out for Memorial Week End some time ago, but we just kept calling, and got in because of a cancellation...they won't put you on a 'waiting list', you have to keep calling, which is a bummer.

We didn't get to meet the other Streamers in the Excella...walked over a couple of times but they were away.

Also, they've raised their prices from $27/nite to current rate of $36 per nite! I knew it was too good to last at the lower price!

If you use AAA or Good Sam the rate went down to $31 (or close to it). I would love to go but I have to talk the shy one (wifey #1) into going. She is pretty shy (unlike her husband #1) and likes to sit around, paint, read and explore. I will work on her a bit more. Maybe some new shoes will prime the pump.

FYI, the park does not allow charcoal BBQ (only gas) or fire pits. I hope this doesn't crimp anybodys style.
