Oh, trust me - yours is not likely to be the only MOHO there - if I have anything to say about it!

I think Warbler is on to some thing. As I heard others say. Set a date and others will follow.

Well....we DID have a "cara-rally" (as BigDee likes to call it ) this past summer, in August! We all met at Gurnsey Creek campground (USFS), just south of Lassen Volcanic NP, where we stayed for 2-3 nights. From there, we caravanned up to Eagle's Nest RV Park (private), just outside of Lavabeds NP, where we stayed for another few nights. There was a total of 5 rigs: BigDee (Dan), Warbler5+TinEarPaul (Dee+Paul), FreshAir (Neil+Lynn), Hit'the'Road (Cam), and a couple from SoCal (Don+?). I think two others signed up but had to back out at the last minute.
No effort was made to keep the group small, but the smaller number of rigs made camping arrangements much easier! We enjoyed the outing immensely....with the smaller group size, we all got to know one another much better than you might at the larger rallies. Almost every night turned into a potluck of sorts. AND....caravanning between campgrounds was sooooooooo much fun!

I would sincerly like to attend the April event but have a schedule conflict for that entire week thru the weekend that I have committed to. I will stay posted when you have another outing and based upon our schedule will use our best endeavors to make it. Sounds like fun with other airstreamers.
I have just about finished my MOHO and just took it to the Grand Canyon and Sedonna last October. This was our first extended trip in it besides weekenders.
We have modified the running gear with a 502HD, gearvendor and all fresh componets. I am working next to put a set of Power Gear Leveling System that I go on ebay. I have done almost all the mechanical and restoriation in my shop at home. We enjoy the restoriation process as much as we do using it.

Ranchmink, if you can't come to Casini, I hope you would think of coming to Rivernook in Kernville in October. After all it's just up the canyon from us. It's beautiful there in October. And the drive wasn't bad at all, took us about 1 hour, 15 minutes.
We had a great time there this year, and it was our first rally.
Hope to see you around.

Afterlife
What happens in the afterlife? Hopefully I or any of you will not find out soon. All this recent chatter about creating more rallies got me thinking about the Afterlife......or in we all's situations what happens in the AfterRally. Most of you working folks know what you will be doing but some of us have been FREED from the everyday drudgery of .........WORK!! ROBERTSUNRUSS wrote in his 'Maybe' in the Casini sign-up that he will consider attending the rally if he and Lee decide that they can tack on another "RANDOM" journey. Lynn and I are thinking about taking off to the north coast 'after the rally'. Anyone else wanna think about an AfterRally Rally? As I stated we are just 'thinking' about it now. We got a couple of things pending about then...one is that our (Navy) son is shipping out about that time for the western Pacific.
Neil.

So does anyone plan on going wine tasting?
is there an organized tour bus that is available.
Or is it BYODD (bring your own designated driver)?

We are snowed in under 18" of snow. If you don't think that's much think about living and walking in that much on a hill. Still working on getting my 4x4 truck dug out. The convertible survived under my reinforced portable garage.
Neil.

We were talking about you and wondering how much snow you got and whether your electricity was off! Let's hope the rain storm coming is a warm one that will clear some of that snow out for you! Until then, hunker down, Neil & Lynn, and keep the fireplace stoked!!!

Snow
Neil- We returned from Santa barbara to six inches of snow in San Andreas Monday night. 6 or 18 inches, same problems. We just made it off the road and part way up the driveway.

Jim, you musta gotta running start? Ida gone back to Santa Barbara.
I shovelled all day. Picture shows the half way mark. The 18" had compressed some so I got traction enough to get to the top of the driveway only to find the neighborhood street still unplowed and a neighbors SUV blocking the road. We're expecting RAIN this weekend. That will be a mess.

Hey Vinnie,
I was up in Grass Valley yesterday, near the Hwy 20/Hwy 49 junction....and, the snow pretty much looks like Neil's place. Of course, the main highways are clear, but 4WD and chains required (mainly due to the ice build-up) on any of the small roads that are infrequently used. The high temps up in that area since the storm are not much above freezing, so there hasn't been much melt-off, except on paved areas that receive full sun.
Soooooo....is your property big enough to accommodate the next rally of say.....50-60 Airstreams??? I hope you have the place plumbed with sewer and electricity, cuz we all like to camp with full hook-ups
Cheers, Dee

Yup.....and, I am with you, Neil! After all, we are the ones with two solar panels + 4 batteries (and a generator for extended cloudy days). Oh, and a giant black-water tank.... I prefer to camp without hook-ups, as long as there's a dump station available when we leave!
Are you and Lynn still without power at your place?
This storm looks to be a warm one, so you may be dealing with flooding next!
