The rain on Sunday was a huge bummer. I was completely soaked with in 10 minutes. I was lucky to have my buddy Ryan there. I was able to pile my wet stuff into the back of his pick up truck. Maybe next year we can do a week or two later.

Spring in California can bring surprises! And, this happens to be a wetter than normal spring.... The organizer happens to be a teacher, and he schedules the rally based on Spring Break, when he can take a few extra days off.

I was thankful the rain held off until Sunday....especially after feeling a few drops on Saturday morning!!! Fortunately, we have never had our potlucks get rained out....yet.

As we were leaving, I saw the pile of wet tents surrounding Neil & Lynn's trailer....fortunately, they had Todd there to help out!

Hi everybody,,, we got up and got out of dodge Sunday morning. Eric had his best raincoat on and low and behold he got soaked through to the skin. When he was done hooking us all up he went and changed into dry clothes and we had a nice ride back to Vallejo. I am taking my time unpacking, still have a few things to bring in the house. Eric redid the last break thingie on Monday, was and still is very grateful to Vin for a brake education. He is also grateful to Paul who has got us on the road to electrical recovery. His friend Johnny came over yesterday and they adjusted all the drawers and cabinets so that they all close the way they are supposed to.
I just want to say what a great group of people you all are. I didn't get to meet everybody, but I hope to in the future. I thought about all the times I have been camping in a place with sites and it was never like it was a Casini! What a blast for sure!

Thankful for,
the fridge working! YEA
tea
a good man!

Funniest thing I heard,
Beth Hagen said, "I am glad to hear your noisy pump, I thought ours was broke but after hearing yours I think its ok."

Yummiest food
Todd's cherry cake and all of the desserts

smiles,
Pink

Yup.....from inside our silver coccoon, we watched folks packing up, folding up awnings, hooking up TV's, etc. We watched and considered offering to help....but, we figured everyone had their own way of doing things!

The one thing we learned, as we watched our neighbor with a 16' Bambi going through all this in the pouring rain....it doesn't matter what size Airstream you own, it still takes just as long to get it all together!

I think that there was only one basenji... Kate. I have the 58 Flying Cloud. I was between Neil and Pink. Does that help connect the dots?

Well....I greased the Airstream and slid it into its parking spot beside the house....so, now I know the trip to Casini is finally over!

Time to start thinking about the next trip....before Jackson. btw....beat the rush and get signed up for Jackson! I know it seems kinda early to be thinking about October, but it was a mad grab for spots last year

Hi Vinnie
Our very Good Friend
Ive strayed from the usual, to post a word of thanks to everyone.
Hans and I were overwhelmed by the kindness shown to us at Casini.
It was really too emotional for me,
I just could not cope with all the goings on.
My 'speech' was a disaster
I could not do justice to the
heartfelt emotions bottled up inside
The hellos were tearful and the cherrios were painful.
I cannot believe we may not be back,
and we may not see people again.
I would be very grateful if One and All
would post pictures on the Journey thread of themselves
There are lots we are very familiar with
but there are a few who, I cannot match name with avatar
I do hope, although we were fairly quiet being on unfamiliar territory
that we left some memories behind and some will tarry awhile
and give us some thought during their quiet time.
We had some lovely presents.
Regrets ? But two ...
I wish we could have arrived Thursday.
DG went to all the trouble of preparing and bringing his lovely planes
I took a peek through his car window on the saturday..
they were most beautiful
Hans was sorely disappointed.
and
I wish we were not so tired
and we could have attended the breakfast.
What with our stressful jobs, and the build up and preparation of the trip,
the lack of sleep took its toll.
we are running on adrenalin at the mo
and hopefully it will keep us going until the end of the road
which unfortunately, being bittersweet
takes us further away
from the most happiest of memories I have for many a year
Bless you all
and cheerio for now
Lili Hans and Hans Leatherby
xx

Hi all, we are finally getting caught up a bit so I can take a minute to say how much we enjoyed meeting everyone. I'm afraid there were many there that we never got a chance to meet and visit with, just too many people and too little time.

Here are a few pics to remember. Aluminum everywhere and the boss on his throne.

Cheers, Dan
