Smile Four days and counting

Only four days left until I arrive at Casini. Can't wait to see everybody. We'll be there to greet y'all as you arrive.

Settling on potato casserole for the potluck and I'll come up with some nibbles and wine for happy hour on Friday.

Cam

Hi y'all... Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We will bring the following.
Friday Happy Hour - Chicken Wings - Bombay Gin
Saturday Potluck - Grilled Boneless Chicken Thighs Teriyaki Style.

Do we need more vegetables? Let us know... happy to bring some.

Do we still need to bring Tarps and Poles for weather/rain forecast???

Central Campfire?

Lets do a central campfire friday and Saturday night.
If you have firewood available, bring a couple to burn.
We're assuming Cassini permits fires....

Cool "Suggestions" for First Timers... (or the Forgetful..)

Since the Nor-Cal Group under Big D's able leadership doesn't actually believe in Rules, Agenda's, Formal schedules, etc, I thought it might be helpful as we get closer to leaving to post some helpful suggestions for the weekend on the Russian River at Casini... Here goes:

1. Regardless of whether you believe in GPS, Mapquest, Google Earth or even AAA maps, whether coming from north or south, take CA Hwy 101 to the "River Road Exit" north of Santa Rosa, and travel west on River Rd through Guerneville (staying on north shore of River) until you arrive at Duncan's Mills turnoff and Casini entrance over bridge and up the hill.. Each year we hear some horror story of endless loops in the woods on roads better suited for mopeds.. If you love adventure and seeing your own tail lights around corners, go ahead and try 116 or Hwy 1...
2. Bring an extra table, for the Cocktail Party Friday or Pot-Luck Setup Satruday.. A tablecloth might also be nice.
3. You'll need plates and utensils for dinner, and maybe a glass for a beverage if your's doesn't come in a handy portable can or bottle...
4. Timing is casual for Pot Luck (Five-ish and may be rain-dependent..) but beware cooking in some ovens is slower than at home, and bringing out a hot dish after all are done and have ravaged the desserts will be disappointing in more ways than one.. <When Vinnie's Shrimp skewers come off the Barbecue, and Cam's Potato cassarole is ready, dinner service will begin!>
5. If it should rain, roadway is packed dirt, and you'll need an extra doormat or carpet or towel to keep trailer clean.. If you have small children or multiple dogs, you'll probably just clean up at home next week...
6. The grocery store is limited, and closes early.. Don't plan on buying entire meals there, and Safeway in Guerneville is 10 miles away...
7. The store doesn't open early either, but the bakery over the bridge serves great muffins and coffee really early...
8. Korbel Champagne cellars stops giving tours pretty early also, but store does sell champagne in all varieties much nearer than Guerneville...

Trailer washed just in time for serious rinsing in rain tonight, and work week should fly by til Friday...

Trailer washed and all systems good to go for Casini! Leaving Friday morning. Yipee!!

John is right about River Road being the best route. Take a left on Moscow Road at Duncans Mills over the bridge to Casini.

One thing I would disagree with John is Saturday night's potluck is at 6:00 SHARP. It is important that everyone plan cooking times accordingly please. As John says, bringing out a hot entree as everyone is finished is disappointing.

And yes firewood is always appreciated (ahhh ahem Jeff). We will have 2 fire barrels at party central.

Rally Schedule
Friday Evening "Meet and Greet" Happy Hour hosted by ???
Saturday Trailer "Open Houses" and gab fest
Saturday Evening Grand Potluck Dinner @ 6:00 Sharp at Party Central
Saturday Night music and campfire at Party Central
Sunday Morning Coffee and "sniff-sniff" Goodbye
