Going from I-5 around clear lake to get to the Russian river is a long long trip. What does it cost to cross the Golden Gate towing a Airstream which is a much shorter route.

Tinsel,

I've driven the I5 to Russian River route with my Safari. It was windy. Very Windy. Too windy. I wouldn't do it again.

I recommend the Richmond- San Rafael Bridge (I580). It is by far the easiest way. If you go GG Bridge, you have to deal with 19th Avenue, which is not fun with trailer. Expect all bridge tolls to be around $10.

Are you in? Come on Tinsel. We need you there.

Big Dee,

How about listing the trailers year next to the names. I want to make sure I'm not the oldest rig there!

You guys in your brand new CCD, Classics, .... grumble...grumble...

Oh yeah we'll come. Russian River is one of my favorite areas. I just don't know where we'll stay or for how long. We'll definitely bring my daughter and most likely my niece.

Tinsel; the Richmond San Rafael bridge is much easier not to mention a great view too.

more suggestions,golfers etc...

For more suggestions of things to do....which is endless...
there is a charming 9 hole golf course near the river and amongst the redwoods in nearby Monte Rio... I believe there is a website...Northwoods is the name and the greens fees are not too bad. I don't play the game...but have friends who are pros who like this little course for the ambience.
Bodega Bay has one too.
The little quonset hut Rio theatre in Monte Rio plays first runs and gives $5 discounts to persons 55 and over...and have great (movie theatre) food too.

any spaces left for a newbie?

My girlfirend and I would like to get to know all the folks here. We are new to the group, and in the area. Thanks.

Newbie

Hi SilverStater.

We too, are "newbies". I'm certain that our shared love of Airstreams will break any ice. We are looking forward to meeting new people with this same interest/obsession. Generally when we camp, we're usually the only AS around, which is kinda cool, but then we yearn to see other AS's too.

Since we live fairly close to the Russian River (Petaluma is less than an hour away), I can tell you that Casini Family Ranch Campground is very close to the Pacific O. and occasionally the fog creeps in and up at the mouth river, making for some chilly nights. Just come prepared. Generally there is more fog in the summer, so it may not even be an issue. We camped there last summer and the scenery is stunning; birdlife, trees and of course, the RIVER!

My husband wants to know if any Mountain Bikers are in this group. He knows some killer trails nearby!

A Big Welcome to SilverStater!!!

SilverStater- There are no newbies to Forum rallies. Just old, dear friends that haven't met yet. Does your forum name mean you're from Nevada? I have just returned from the Nevada where I had an awesome time in the desert. Anyway, you are in. You have the last guaranteed space. Can't wait to meet you and your girlfriend, old friend.

Ingrid- Your daughter and niece, along with Colin MADE the last rally. They are great kids and I enjoyed being with them so much. You have done a wonderful job. I would be very disappointed if they weren't there so am happy to hear you will make it.

Safari Tim- Hey, I've seen your pics on your website. Your trailer will outshine all of the new ones so I wouldn't worry. And you threaded the needle a little close in that pic of Tahoe Valley Campground. That tree looks to be about two inches from your trailer!

Trailerbunny- Keep up those ideas for Saturday activities. I wonder if the Rio theater has flooded yet this year, as it usally does? Good call on Northwoods as I had forgotten about that little beautiful course.

Everyone- Another thing to do on Saturday is Fort Ross State Historic Park. If you haven't been, then I highly recommend it. The fort has been restored to what it looked like during the Russian era in California. If you like history, then this is a "can't miss". It is located up the coast on Hwy 1.

This thread is 1 week old and all ten spots are spoken for. Awesome! Never expected such an incredible response. I will call Casini to get 5 more spots. Still expecting an answer from Tinsel, DogHouse, plowboy, and Excella3287. Hope they all can make it.

Hey, I hear the sun will re-appear sometime this week! HOOORAY!!!

Well Tin, I hope it wasn't something we said. You are a better photographer so we will miss your pics. Anyway, we will see you at the fall rally.

Sorry to hear that Silverstater and Excella3287 can't make the rally this time. But hope to see them at the next rally.

Hope everyone hasn't washed away with all this rain. Maybe it will be all rained out by April! Cross my fingers.

Hey All You NorCal Ralliers!

Well it's about SIX weeks until happy hour on the Russian River!! It's coming fast. We have one guaranteed spot left but I can get more. Anybody want to be number 10?

Here is the link for Fort Ross State Historic Park. If you haven't been there then I highly recommend it for a day trip on Saturday. Lots of good California history to enjoy.

Theres got to be someone lurking out there, just wanting to go, could even be a visitor to the web site? Come on, you can even come even if you don't have an Airstream!

Maybe it would help to explain a bit what to expect. I for one have never been to a rally besides visiting an open house.

I am kinda holding my family *hostage* making them go ;-)
