So now I'm all confused! Seems that Paul, the fabulous guitarist, had an opportune Photo-Op with much discussed and admired Ranger Danger! Tim, Kevbo, Paul, who else? I tried mighty hard to compliment her "Bling" and she thought I meant her jewelry and nine-inch laminated nails. BUT NO! I was talkin' about her cuffs and .45, haphazardly slung to her snugly worn belt. Obviously the wrong approach. .....hmmm?

Did Bob and Lee ever make it home?

Hi, well as some of you know, we drove all the way from Lakewood, Ca. to Casini Ranch in one day; We started at 4:30 AM Friday and planned to be there just after noon. Well there were two accidents on the 5 that slowed us up a bit, but I'm persistant. Still plugging along we were within reach of our goal of being there just past noon, give or take an hour or two, not anticipateing bad directions that sent us in circles. [PANIC] One Lincoln Navigator towing one 25' Safari, only a few miles from camp, about eight miles, running on "EMPTY". [30 Miles Left to , get out and push mode] We asked a few locals, "why can't I find this road?" and their answer was, "Because there is no road". We finally made it to our camp site. [Mentally drained] And feeling really stupid until we were told that we weren't the only ones lost and almost out of gas. Sorry about the other's getting lost too, but it made feel a little better knowing that I wasn't the only one. "This will never happen to us again!"

Fast forward: After all the three Fs, Fun, Food, and Friends, We were going to head for home, but we were planning to stop somewhere on the way home to spend the night. We decided to stop at a KOA in Santa Margarita. Big town, Lots of gas stations, and a camp ground just off of the freeway; And we have 30 miles left on the gas tank, no problem! Wrong, camp site was ten miles from freeway, and a small town with no gas stations. Now the infamous gas meter said we have 20 miles left as we were leaving the KOA, eight miles to the Hwy and twenty miles to the nearest town with gas. Do the math; we will be eight miles short. [Panic] We made it to gas station with the gas meter on "0". And yes, we finally made it home.

Well, at Casini Ranch, we had a great time meeting with our forum friends, many for the first time, and some for the second time. What a fantastic Pot Luck dinner with great intertainment and a sea of Aluminum Airstreams of different years, styles, colors, and sizes. This was a first for us. Thank you to everyone there.

Glad to see you two made it home without pushing. And thanks a bunch for the cool surprise gift.

No road?

[quote=ROBERTSUNRUS] push mode] We asked a few locals, "why can't I find this road?" and their answer was, "Because there is no road".

So how did you get there? Don't tell me you can fly your Airstream. pj

Hi, I wish we could fly. The road we were trying to find, according to our map, was not connected to the road we were on. So there was no way we could make a left turn when we met this road. "Because there is no road" Therefore we were told [by locals] to take a different street, that was connected to the road we were on, to Hwy 116, turn left, follow Hwy 116 to Moscow Road, turn left, follow Moscow Road to Casini Ranch sign, turn left to camp site.

Yup...well Doorgunner did and called it out from the back seat of our convertible. I had to keep my eyes upon the road. Then forgot to check it out on the return trip.

We Spotted it Too

Jim and Leslie:
I guess it must be in the blood. Deb and I saw that AS out in the wilds on our run down to Bodega Bay. Does this picture look familiar? I see what you meant about the Armstrong Redwoods. It does look like a great place for a run. Ron

Can you imagine what the air must be like in there? We'll remember that for next year! (Hopefully Jim's achilles tendon will be healed and he'll be able to run too.) There's also a company that does trail rides there, but you do have to have a reservation.

What makes you think it was lost? You're never lost in an Airstream, maybe a little off center but never ever lost!! Ha
