Thanks! I just saw that there's an April '07 photo contest, so I sent it in. Zoe's been practicing whistling lately, and that's what she was doing when I happened to get this shot. Didn't even notice the Bambi in the background until afterwards.

Seven hours and ~350 miles and we're home. We had a very nice time and want to say thank you to you all. Well, I'm supposed to be unpacking...

It's very hard to get back to reality...What a rally that was!!!!
Paula, great job on the newsletter. I can't believe that you got the newsletter out even before I got home. That's incredible.
Paul, it's absolutely a pleasure to be part of your gig, and thanks for allowing me to impose
Karen, thanks for sharing such great talent with us, your violin was fantastic!!
Ron & Debbie, as always a great neighbor, and that margi ball was delicious. Not to mention, the pirate peep was just too much...
Doorgunner & LL, the wine tasting was fabulous, what a great time we had.
BamCamp & Kevbo, can't thanks enough for being such great hosts, and the wonderful campfire and post-potluck/party hang out...ssssssshhhhhhh
Janetb, for being such great organizer, and get the list put together for us.
Too many people to thanks, and too many memories to record... both John and I and TT enjoyed everyone's hospitality and friendships. We had great fun spending time with old friends, and meeting new friends. Can't wait for the next rally!!!
Here are some highlights.

Lynn and I reached our home this afternoon. We traveled with Doorgunner and LL (driving her car) River Road to 101 then south to 37. I was in the lead and missed the cut-off to 37 from 101. LL had fallen behind us in the busy traffic but she took the correct turn-off. Whatta girl! Anyway Doorgunner and us stayed together east on 80 until his highway 12 exit to which he pulled along side and we waved bye to each other. Traffic was light thru Sacramento as we were ahead of the working man's rush to their homes. After some gas and A&W root beer we made the last leg up to our bit of paradise east of Placerville. What a great time Lynn and I had. Nice to meet all of you and see what you all looked like behind those avatars. Robert...thanks for the 'gifts'. The letter opener had us baffled until I remembered you telling me about how you got your distinctive blue band on your Safari. Thank you for being a good neighbor and also Doug and Bin Bin on the other side of us. Shame, Doug, that your barbeque treats did not include that very busy woodpecker in your tree. Now I have to check the photos we took and post them to share.

The owner of the Ocean Mesa campground is an Airstream owner (30' classic s/o). I met him this weekend and I think he may join the forums.

I think it would be a nice destination somewhere in the Gold Country or in the Sierras - near Lake Tahoe somewhere in late May or late June

Wow! That was great rally!!!
Okay those are some of the most awesome pics I have ever seen of a NorCal rally. Very talented photographers in the group!
Yea, I was a little depressed yesterday. I just hate packing up on sunday and leaving everybody. These things need to be a week long but alas that would be the WBCCI.
It was a fantastic rally. I love seeing my old rally mates and meeting all the new ralliers. We all owe a lot to Kevbo for putting down the hefty deposit to get this thing rolling. He truely makes the rally. Paula, amazing job on the newsletter. How did you do it so fast? And everyone, thanks for making it a special time.
I think the idea of having a "meet up" between now and the October rally is a great idea. Although it would be very difficult to get 30 sites together during the summer due to reservation issues, we sure could do some quickly planned small "meet ups". I think everyone should just post when they know where they will be camping this summer and maybe people could meet up if it works out. I have my trip planned this summer so if anybody wants to join me, it would be fun.
Eagles Nest RV Park comes highly recommended and is in Northeastern CA. It's a beautiful remote spot surrounded by national forest. Junipers RV Park is an incredible place near the CA/OR border. I was there last summer and it was awesome. The park is on a 6000 acre ranch with wildlife all around. The park managers encourage you to explore the ranch which has hiking trails thru national forests, indian camping grounds, old homesteads, and fishing ponds. It's very, very nice place to just relax. Both parks should have spots available for last minute comers.
I'll start and everyone post their dates too and maybe we will have some spontaneous gatherings.
August 5, 2007......Boomtown, Reno NV
August 6-9............Eagles Nest RV Park, Tionesta CA
August 10-16........Junipers RV Park, Lakeview OR
August 17.............JGW RV Park, Redding CA
I am free the 3rd week of June if anybody wants to meet up then too.
Come on everyone, lets meet up this summer!

How about at the new place in Santa Barbara? What better place to be in Summer than the beach?
Codybear and Condo,
How about Death Valley in August..that way Goin camping is sure to make it, work furlough program or not!
Naw, Death Valley is too crowded. Right over the mountain to the West is the Panamint Valley. No rules and nobody to shush us after several M-Balls
I wish we could have been there with y'all.[/quote]

Potluck notes...
Very early Sunday morning (after the after hours get together) there was still a full buffet of potluck goodies stretched out in front of my camp site. I cleaned off all the tables and ended up throwing away tons of beautiful food.
(By that time the food was ruined, all damp and mushy.) It seemed a shame to waste all that good stuff that people worked hard to make. There were lots of half bottles of wine too.
A couple of ideas for future rallies...
Let's have the big potluck on Friday. That way we can eat some of the Friday leftovers for lunch or dinner on Saturday. And if people prepare things at home they'll be one day fresher too. Right after the potluck is over people should take the leftovers and their containers back to their Airstreams. There were potholders, spoons, plates and baskets that no one claimed.
Already thinking about the next rally!

We had a great time at the Rally and really appreciate everyone who made it special. We're up for a summer rally if the timing works out for us. Here's a couple of picures including the freeway meltdown section we passed on our way home. What a mess that's going to be for Bay Area commuters.
When I downloaded pictures to my camera I found some really nice shots--the only problem is we didn't take them. I know this because both Ron and I were in the pictures. I misplaced my camera at Doorgunners wine tasting, (its all a blur ) and I guess someone else took advantage of it. They did a great job of taking pictures, so I'm happy. The question is: who dunnit???

Tim, those are t-errific!!!..I'm trying to make a 'movie' with the microsoft feature..anyone try that?..
I agree with you Bam, on the fresher 'ness' of the foods if we do the potluck on Friday...only thing is that it might be hard for those who have to work on that day!

Just used my new letter opener (thanks Bob & Lee) and though I'd chime in...
It was great to meet many of you and I look forward to meeting up with the NorCal group again in the future! As a new Airstreamer, and not knowing what to expect, I had a great time.
Thanks to Kevbo and Big Dee for organizing the event and keeping the thread going since January. 30,000+ views for a weekend event attended by 30+ Airstreams is pretty incredible!

I've used that Microsoft software for movies and thought it was pretty self - explanatory. See what you think. Thanks for the newsletter,

The mystery is now solved
Thanks so much Bob and Lee. We wondered who left them for us. Really sweet of you, and so creative. It was great seeing you again. Until next time...
