Door, in Oahu, yes, cockroaches and big ones too!..do't forget the geckos!!did you go fishing?..when I went back to visit family, I went out w/my uncle on the north side to look for marlin!..that was fun, no marlin, just ahi..

Cockroaches were everywhere on Oahu. We had flying ones that hung out in the shower and would fly right at you. They were huge! I get shivers just thinking about those poky scaly legs landing on my shoulder. Eeyaahggg! And they made such a hideous crunching sound when you squashed them with the shampoo bottle. And now my mainland neighbors wonder why a few ants and beetles don't bother me...

I moved to the 'mainland' in 2nd grade and finished up in Sacramento.

When I saw a cockroach in the shower, I grabbed my zori and well, put it this way, there was nothing left of that bug by the time I finished with him!..

that's some snow on you a/s!!..I was thinking of going to the snow this weekend w/our grandson..saw on the news on 80 by Nyak, they've got snow..that must be at the lower elevation than Placerville?

Lets see now (X + Y) minus square root of 144 = 29. So Paula you're 29 years old! Wish I had your youth. I think I made all the correct computations here altho I did resort to using the short equation.

Looks like you've been in our neck of the woods, Reno ! I'm not sure about happiest place on earth. Used to be proudly kitschy! Beautiful side-street neon motels and Americana-a-rama. But it's slowly being shoveled away...

We are east of Placerville south of HY50 (3 miles south of Apple Hill) at about 3000'. We do get snow several times a year but never stays long. That is good because it get messy after a day or 2. This little snow is nothing like growing up in Michigan!

Wally....We lived in Washoe Valley from 1978 to 1986. I helped open and stayed with the Macy's in Reno which was part of the BOOM for Reno. Until a year ago we regularly visited our good friends in Virginia Foothills. I share your feeling of how that area has changed. It has unfortunately transformed into an extention of Calif. We really enjoyed living there and it was a great place to raise our kids.

No way! A PO removed the furnace and replaced it with a small propane unit. I bought a small catalytic heater to help should we need it. Besides there was a nice fire in our fireplace in the house. If it is cold at Casini you may find Lynn and I bundled next to the camp fire for the night.
