So I get my spud gun out to show them a thing- remember I'm collecting for the pot luck. I figured without a potatoe the shock wave would stun them and then I could do the little bunny fu fu hopping thru the forest; catching little meeces and bopping um on the head thing. As gomer pile would say SURPRISE SURPRISE. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS; I REPEAT DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS!!!

OK Tim,
I gotta ask what others are thinking. Didja blow the barrel up? Is there even a gun left to bring to the rally? Also, more details need to be forthcoming about the condition of said gophers.
Inquiring minds want to know.

It is gettin scary
Hey Guys,
We gotta be careful and not keep egging on doorgunner....if we keep it up, he will soon wind up on the airlines "No Fly" list. And if that happens, who is going to protect us in the sky? I know it is a trade-off...but let's keep him flying for all of our sakes.

Good point, if the airport "puffer" machines detect nitrates from his little escapades, he may be in the Hilton for a long time to come.

I have a proven way of getting gophers. First, you stick your finger down the hole and attempt to pet the gopher. Next, after the said gopher has latched onto your finger, you slam it down... and wallah- dead gopher. What happens next is up to you, but in my case your grandpa shovels him off the cliff and grandma takes you for a rabies shot.

icing elbow, do not fire spudder into earth while holding can of beer! I don't need no stinkin airlines, have my own aircraft, spuds are legal according to NTSB until you point one at someone unless some county has laws otherwise, Like Montery County for instance. BUT they have very sensible peace officers to interview you and run you driver license. So the spudder only is fired on private property with owners consent. Yes I'm bringin it to the rally will check with owner!

Now I am gonna sleep better knowing that doorgunner has his own rig in the sky and not only does he have our left flank, but he is also supplying air support.

And from the photo he posted above, I would call it CLOSE air support. Anytime you can stick the barrel in the foxhole....

I have serious gopher problems, and no spud gun...So does anyone have a seriously effective combat technique? I have way too many Macabees in the ground, and have lit a bazillion sulpher bombs, and under desperation (I do love my roses and grapes vines...) even used, gasp, ecofriendlypoison. But all these attempt just seem to encourage the critters to breed, breed, breed. All I do seems to become trap aphrodisiac.
Woe is me. I am so tired of planting in baskets and having the eventual root spiraling kill a great plant.
So if a forum member can't come up with a solution, as far as I'm concerned, no one can!

And, by the way, we live near the infamous Corralitos Market and we will be bringing a large variety (chicken, apple etc.) of the best smoked sausage you have ever had in your life--to the rally.

Well....how about bringing in a 'Gopher eating predator?'

as is often the case in life, the solution is so close at hand, it's hard to see one from the other. simple solution, invite say; ME, for three days, EVERYTHING will leave, and i'm a GREEN method, although my reck appears RED. everything leaving happens so often now, i don't even notice anymore...
ask,

Okay, I'm noticing a common thread here. So, how much do you get at each rally for greeting?

mr. wally,
you of all people... may i remind you that what happens at a (insert name of rally here) stays at the (again, insert name of rally here).
i covered this very subject about page 5 of this thread. nor cal forum rule book, page 345 thru 689, covers this subject nicely.
further more, no one has yet to ask for the breed of my horses, and i can bring my dogs to the happy hour AND pot luck (as you are aware at WBCCI rallies, you may bring bob the dog, on a leash, lock him in the trailer or TV while drinking and eating AND require the breed B4 attending). as a highly paid officious rally greeter i WAIVE all the rules (well i do like to know whom is sleeping w/ whom, it's so red neck, and i keep score) am popular and do about 60 events a year which keeps me busy, when i'm not being annoying, or bothering people, by just being me.
this is the short version...
could give you the epic tome... comes w/ a sound track...
cheers,
kevbo

mr. wally,
i didn't mean to be so snippy.
i get as much as i can, i camp for free, eat and drink for free, and then i over bill...
then i head off to the next rally.
