Just tried to make reservations, they are fully booked. If anyone is planning to cancel, please let me know. I'd love to grab your spot!

Blanco Settlement! Maybe they are close. 1705 Ranch Road 165
www.blancosettlement.com or info@blancosettlement.com

Also there were some campers last year that parked in a screen shelter drive. Guess that would be only for shorter units. There were 18 spots when we posted this. They are going fast. Maybe try calling the state or the park directly see if Reserve World is having issues or something.

Sauerkraut and sausage. My favorite dish for cold weather potlucks.

Blanco Settlement is about 5 miles east of the state park, along the Blanco River. It is usually pretty empty in the winter.

You might try and make a reservation for a shelter site. There are four shelter sites that will accommodate trailers up to 25'. That was my plan for last year's rally, but someone cancelled, so we ended up having an RV site.

I called Blanco State Park. They won't rent out the shelters for a travel trailer.

I'll just keep my eye on the TPWD site.

Well that is a bummer. I was at the park in December and personally talked to a park official about that subject.

Maybe selecting a new larger host site would be good for next year. Blanco Settlement is an option if there are enough trailers. Communting is not optimal.

How many folks do you think will want to come but won't be able? Maybe we consider a second group at Blanco Settlement this year?

Another park near the Blanco State Park is RIVER OAKS RIVERFRONT RV RESORT - HOME PAGE it has 33 spots in total (I don't know how many are open in Dec) their site only lets you reserve and pay in advance. Blanco State Park has 30 spots so I think it would be hard to find a bigger park in Blanco for next year than what we have.

I had a good breakfast at the Blanco Bowling Club this am & decided to check in at the Blanco State Park's office - I don't trust the Parks & Wildlife website. Yes, as of now all RV sites are full & the park can't take a waiting list - you have to go thru Parks & Wildlife.

FYI, I asked Duty Ossifer J. L. Erlanson if RV parking was allowed at any of the shelters. His answer was a definate YES, but only at shelters 41, 42 & 46, and each of these shelters have plenty of room to accomodate trailers. Each of these shelter sites have electricity & water, but no dump at the shelter. There is a centrally located dump site as you depart the park. I suggest you jump on one of these sites if you want to camp in the park with the Airstream group.
