See how devious Miss Skye is!! She is trying to distract me from my decorating by announcing an Ale tasting tour amidst the heat of decorating. Devious, just devious, what other misdirections lie within her grasp.

flamigo bribes

drunken judges are much easier to control than a guy who just got a Yanni sings Christmas CD in the gift exchange and you're holding a "Flamingo Lamp", who do you think will get the lamp now? you can only hope something Better turns up ! ...but then just when you think the Lamp is yours, No. 1 gets to go again!!!!!!!What?!? YES
So the goal of the game is to be No 1 or bring something really good so there are many "Flamigo Lamps" to fight over..... and don't count on the old people being nice just because you're little LOL

Kudos to you Skye for attempting to create a distraction for those decorating, very interesting! We remember these guys when they basically brewed in their garage! Maybe not their garage but a very very small place. They have a great coffee beer usually a few of the guys get together and buy a keg, then we hide it in our vehicle(Tx state park rule, no displaying of alcholic beverages) See you all soon.

I think maybe I should just go on up there now and start getting that keg cold. And discreetly testing the pump dispenser of course, just to make sure it all works properly.....

10 Day Weather Forecast for Blanco - weather.com
We don't have snowsuits and stuff for this kind of cold! Us South Texans wear flip-flops and shorts all year....where is the nearest parka factory?

warm clothing for Texans

... you can always pick up warm clothing at the second hand / consignment store in your area, the Jr League in Austin always has really nice ski clothes for sale at their shop. we used to go crystal mining in Arkansas in the dead of winter and needed clothes that kept us warm but we could getting muddy and not feel bad about it...after all how many times will you wear that down jacket?

I am in for the tasting. I toured their setup when it was in the basement off the square.

w00t! Getting the trailer read for Blanco. Also hoping for an early arrival. Christina and the girls will follow after school. The rain this weekend is a great welcome and is helping me see where all of my water leaks are (like the one right above the bed). Hopefully this rain will keep the fire ban OFF to help us keep warm by our campfires. I wholly welcome the chilly weather for camping, besides I've got the two big fluff balls huskies to help keep us warm.

Question on the gift exchange; was there a recommended price range? We have something in the $20-ish area.

HHHHHMMMMMMMMM!! Looks like fur-lined undies might be the premium gift instead of flamingo lamps or birdhouses!

That's a good price range $20 and under - I read that is gonna be 25, 29, 32 degrees so those fur lined panties are sounding mighty fine, ya'll get those other 2 girls that like to drink the red wine drunk and than come talk to me when they are not watching. Cha-ching!!!!

Gifting Rules and Beer

Wow!!!

Fur Lined Lingerie, Vintage Merlot Wine, Jack Daniels Single Barrel, and Flamingo Lamps - this thing has come a long way from bullet hole decals and a lifetime supply of cheap electrical tape from years gone by....remember, it's not the cost of the gift, but the uniqueness that counts. Flamingoes and Chickens are REALLY important to some people, a spare vintage vent cover would be gold to others. Don't go overboard on the cost - it's for fun and entertainment - your choice on the price.

On the other hand, the addition of more children (sub-adult) makes a HUGE addition to the overall enjoyment of the pagent....hopefully in the years to come more parents and grandparents will bring even more kids to be involved and generate some life long memories of what Airstreaming is supposed to be.

Along the lines of the Oh So Popular Gift Exchange -

Dirty Santa exchange is for the adults - kids are most welcome to be present during the exchange (language and topic will be kept age appropriate), but there will be plenty of gifts for the kids at other times during the weekend.

Any couple (even if there are two or more couples per site) will be eligible for the exchange, assuming they bring a gift to be distributed.

Solo campers are, of course, also eligible.

There will most certainly be more gifts than campers, so the picking of gifts will continue until all gifts are gone.

As always, the first name (site number) drawn out of the hat will get the last steal, even though some will end up with two gifts, others with only one, depending on the luck of the draw. Names will be remixed after the first round to assure a fair draw process for all involved.

Lastly, Casa3805 (Chuck) has "volunteered" to supply the Coffee flavored Keg O' Beer - actually a half keg, about 15 1/2 gallons. I estimate this cost will be around $100. Please donate your fair share of the cost of the keg to Chuck or Skye,

Wife and I decided rather than drive back to Port O'Connor after our unit rally in Montgomery and then to Blanco , we came on over to Blanco. This move saved 200+ miles of driving As luck would have it we got a spot here in the park for the week. Gonna spend a few days checking out the local area. Guess this means we're early birds or maybe just too tight to spend the money on fuel

Sounds reasonable enough to me! Blanco is a great central point to see LOTS of the hill country, or to just chill out this week (yes, pun intended, stay warm!).

however, we can't make the rally....so we just arrived at Blanco State park yesterday, in the pouring rain....and it rained all night...but today it looks like it will clear for the rally....wish we were going to be here but are leaving tomorrow....circling central texas before heading west for the 4CU Picacho Peak New Years Eve RALLY

I SEE CAP-IN-RED across the way...ahoy mate....

Spot opening up at the Park

Unfortunately Sandra and I will not be able to attend the Rally and will be canceling our spot at the Park. We were really looking forward to it and had our decorations and all! Have fun and we cant wait to see the pictures.
