Next June ??

I know its early...but I am planning a late May early June trip for 2005...not too sure where yet, but considering going North thru Kentucky, Ohio, into Illinois and maybe on to Milwaukee...have a soon to be teen boy who would love to visit the famous Ball Parks.

Anyway if anyone is planning a Forum Rally for that time periood, maybe we could pencil it in and meet some folks from out of our area.
Open to sugestions.

Midwest Forum Rally

A Midwest Forum Rally is generally held the weekend following the first full week in June at Moraine View State Park near LeRoy IL. Nice park, great pot luck, laid back atmosphere, GREAT folks and AIRSTREAM tours TOO!!!

Don't think anything has been put on "paper" about it yet, though.

Ball parks

You know, famous ball parks should include Fenway. If you're lucky you may even see the ghost of the Babe.

Well, you might consider heading up to St. Louis since it will be the last year for the existing Busch Stadium. The last and probably the best of the cookie cutter stadiums built in the 60's. From there possibly a stop at Moriane View, assuming we all decide to do it again, then a stop in Chi Town see the Cubbies and the Sox, then on to Milwaukee. Assuming everyone is in town, it would be a trip your son wouldn't forget.

That might work, we could head thru Nashville, then onto St Louis. I have done that a nuumber of times, and it was always a pretty good run. Still in the planning stages, as last year the weather and kids illness changed everything.

One thing you will need to also look at is the 2005 major league schedules which won't be out for some time yet. Doesn't someone also have a minor league team in Nashville? I hear minor league baseball is a hoot.

Minor league is great! We have been to the Chatanooga Lookouts, Nashville Sounds, Savannah Sand Gnats (!), and Rome, GA Braves.
It is reasonable to get a ticket, food and souvenirs are also a good value, and the games are fun. Like old time baseball, before the "150 bucks for a family of four night out" became the standard.

Hi to Jack and family:

I was wondering if there was a Midwest Rally this October to check out the leaves. I hope all is well on your end!

Curtis,

There is the Airscream rally planned at Morraine View in October. Ron is sort of heading that function. There is a thread for that at this time. Our Rte. 66 caravan/rally planned for this fall was cancelled due to some health issues with Patty and some unexpected work travel plans for our co-sponsors. We are looking at mid May to do that rally.

As for me, I'm heading to the Lake of the Ozarks for a rally hosted by the local WBCCI unit. From there Patty and I head out for a week under the oak trees in Branson. We have a favorite campground down there (Compton Ridge) close to Silver Dollar City. Its a great time of the year to be down there. We haven't been out since the Mackinaw City rally so we are really looking forward to get out.

Obviously we will working towards another June rally at Morraine so stay tuned for that. We will probably start the thread late Feb or early March.

Jack

well how about some folks stepping up and lets all meet in KY or Nashville Tn, or somewhere in June...the second or third week? I could do that on my way to wherever.

Thanks Jack.

If you don't mind, could you remind me who Tony is (I am terrible with names!).

Thanks much and enjoy Branson!
