We're Settled in at Bayou Segnette

We arrived a couple hours ago. Settled in... watching a little football on network TV - pretty good reception.

Unfortunately the WIFI at Bayou Segnette will not permit us to connect to "streaming video" sites so I guess we won't be watching college football games this week. Arrrrggggghhhh! Guess we'll have to go out to eat at a local sports bar so we can watch the USF vs. Clemson game on Friday.

Tomorrow is a our day to look around town. We're planning to go the WWII museum in the AM. After that.... ???? maybe one of Jim's suggestions.

Looking forward to meeting the 93Excella crew and working for St. Bernard Project later this week.

Lucius

Three Days of Food, Fellowship, Fun....

.... And helping others.

The last three days have gone by quickly. The project we worked on for St. Bernard Project was very interesting. The homeowners are a young couple with a recent baby. The house will be ready for them in the next few weeks.

Our team assisted with installing doors, some flooring, painting doors, interior caulking, general clean-up and having fun. There was lots of eating too! The New Orleans area certainly has lots to offer.

Tomorrow is a sight-seeing day for the contingent from Kentucky and a college football bowl watching day for the contingent from Georgia.

We've had a nice time here and will considering returning some time. If you're inclined to volunteer some time (or money) please consider the St. Bernard project or one of the many other organizations in the NO area.

Our volunteer leaders indicated there are many thousands of homes still to be rebuilt in this area. At the current rate it will take 16 years to complete the rebuilding. Let's spread the word and do what we can to speed up the process.
