Reviving this thread, as I want to host one or two forum rallies this summer / fall. Maybe two of them, one at the end of the summer and one again late Sept / early Oct. First, I'd like to see if there is any interest in attending one if I host it during the Bouckville Antique days, 19, 20 and 21 August. It would be in the small hamlet of North Norwich, NY 13814 in the town park with water and electric. Here is a link to the Bouckville days, about 20 miles away - imagine a few miles of antiques set up in the fields.

I am currently going to go ahead and start planning it, but would like a rough estimate of attendance. I've never hosted a rally, and think it'd be fun. I'll have to see about black and wash water service.

I know it's the weekend before Region 1 in Quebec....but it would make a nice layover spot.

If successful, I'd be in to doing another one early October.

Nearby: Cooperstown, NY; Finger Lakes Trail; Roger's Center Conservation Center; Chenango River for canoeing; Stanton's Farm Market (my Uncle's); Northeast Car Museum (Norwich) ; Soccer Hall of Fame (Oneonta); Colgate University.

well, the NE unit of the wally-club has a rally that weekend, if I'm not mistaken. there was talk of an unofficial caravan from there to TroisRivierre. So I expect to be attending that.

perhaps we should start a new thread...

Very interested in NE Forum Rally and will help you with it. Central NY was one of the areas we talked about at last year's rally. I scouted Watkins Glenn but they were having some event the weekend after Labor Day which was when last year's was held. The State Park there said they could make the Rally field available on some dates but it has NO services in the field. Still it would make an cool site. The NY Caravan uses it I think. Look at the Region One web site http://www.wbcci1.org/ne/events.htm as a conflict with the New England unit would likly cut into attendance. Some of the WDC unit members expressed an interest at last years Big E Rally and the Region 2 website gives little info about events other than WDC.

I am VERY interested in attending that antique show -- it looks similar to the Brimfield Fair held 3-times a year in Brimfield, MA -- but it conflicts with already-planned NEU camping trips. Maybe another time.

I checked out the distances between Bouckville and Littleton, NH, where the caravan is overnighting, and it is 300 miles. If I wasn't going to Quebec, I would attend!

Yeah, I sent Chuck a CD-ROM with about a half zillion pictures. He was supposed to post them online somewhere. But that was only last AUGUST, give the guy some time and he'll get around to it!

Well, I'm going to do it. The Antique Rally will begin the evening of the 18th, and go through Sunday, the 21st. Saturday will be an outing to the Bouckville Days Antique day for those interested. I'll also get up with the Northeast Auto Museum for passes for those interested...alot of Franklins in there. Bring your canoe, as we can transport 7 miles north so that you can canoe the Chenango (about 1/2 mile away is the portage). We'll have a fire, and possible some singing Friday night.

I have to find a new site...the town clerk who books the pavillions called me today to tell me that they are both booked for family reunions this weekend....Il find another site nearby...

Also, what would be a good weekend in late Sept / Early Oct? Columbus day weekend?
