My Old Kentucky Home Rally - Nov 11th, Bardstown KY

I few people in the IN, KY, MI, OH areas have expressed some interested in a last fling camping trip before the season closes in on us. So at the encouragement of other members I thought I would try and organize an impromptu rally at My Old Kentucky Home State Park (Bardstown, KY - http://parks.ky.gov/stateparks/mk/) for the weekend of Nov 11th.

We're planning to go ourselves with the kids so if anyone is interested please hop on this thread. It'll be a low key forum rally - more of a camp together than anything else, a great chance for local members to meet and get one more in before it gets too cold to camp around here.

Steven,

What a great idea, we were through Bardstown in 2002 and it is very pretty and some great bourbon distilleries also. Tasting at Jim Beam.

Bardstown is a great place and the park is wonderful. Let me check the dates with my wife.

People from Illinois are most certainly invited. Even people with trailers can come

Well the weather is not going to cooperate this weekend. Calling for severe weather with heavy rain on Sat. Not sure anyone was planning on making it but I think we'd better try this another time.

Absolutely. Just trying to get one more fix before it gets COLD around here. Today was such a tease, 71 and sunny. Road my bike at lunch and didn't want to come back to the office at all.

We started totalling up some expenses over the past two weeks and came to the realization that an 850 mile weekend excursion just was not in the budget. Sad, since we both love that area but we would only have three days to drive down, visit, and come back.
We did get to go camping last weekend and are planning another trip this December.
