The rally sounds like a blast...

We moved from Bellingham, WA last May and spent lots of time at Mount Baker. Beautiful area. Wish we could go.

Hi Mel, I decided to stay put and take my time finishing up the interior. I need to save my gas money for my big trip this fall. I don't see a problem making it next year. It would be soo cool to see all those AS's in one spot in person ! Have fun and post pics for us folks that will only be there in spirit.

Chris

Do it now.

OK, your Last Chance is near.

I just checked the NOAA weather for the Bellingham area, Clear sky, 70 to 80 this weekend.
I'm headed out to hook the trailer up right now 7:04am.
Hope to see you all there.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us...

The truck is being grumpy today. Am hoping it's an easy fix and that we'll be on our way tomorrow after work as planned. Looking forward to seeing all of you!

I'm bummed, I can't make it. Hope you all have a great time - be sure to take some pictures of the cool vintage trailers for those of us stuck at home!

Yip skips, we are off in about ten minutes to our first vintage trailer meet. After 35 years of vintage car meets this will be a unique event for us. Really looking forward to meeting others with the same interest in trailers. Will take pics and post them. Does life get any better than this? Barry (and Donna)

We had a great time! There were over 60 trailers - all kinds- all vintage. This rally is definately on our list for next year. It was a lot like a vintage car show and shine event. Tourists came to see the restored tin, there were camera crews and Doug Keister was on hand shooting for his next book. The saturday swap meet had trailers in it for sale! Cool - come with one leave with 2.

Donna and I had an outstanding time, as did our friends with their 17' Boler and the two couples with the GMC motorhomes who were with us. Unlike the rod and custom events we've participated in (literally hundreds in 30 plus years) this was exactly what we've been looking for, a social event where the vehicles and trailers are secondary to the people you get to meet. It was obvious my Safari57 name confused most folks who thought that meant a '57 Safari trailer = it's actually reference to my '57 Pontiac Stationwagon we've had forever. We use it to tow our '51 Airstream Flying Cloud which we acquired after looking for years for the right '57 Safari trailer without success. Next year I'll put up a sign that has both our names and our email address so people will know. And yes, we will go next year for sure and it looks like a much larger group from our club will bring their vintage trailers along now that they know it's a fun event. Some of you folks have done outstanding work on your trailers, and Charcigar, that shine on yours has me in serious doubt as to whether I will ever get mine half as pretty. Thanks again to all who came past our trailer and for allowing us to look at yours. We are looking forward to the next one. Barry and Donna
