Same weekend as the vintage motorcycle weekend at Road America, again. That's something I enjoy going to with my son, so we'll miss this year. Maybe we'll be able to make the Fall event.

Holy Cow, you snooze you loose not much to left to pick from. I just reserved P14 for us.
I spent last summer learning to drive and backup my airstream, now I get to do it in front of a crowd. It will be good to see everyone again.

Wow, I was just getting around to starting to get things going and I found this thread. Good thing I did or we wouldn't have gotten into the middle of things. Got F3. Looks like the F sites are now gone. Looks like P13 and P23 are the only two left on the loop? Have we booked all of these sites so early? I haven't seen this go so fast this early. We need to do an accounting of sites at this point and see if the bookings are ours, or whether there are others outside the group who decided to beat us to the punch this year.

And so, I feel a need to explain a bit more....while many of us knew the reservation window for this opened in December, Jack thought it was in January, and did not see this thread.

So, while I posted this to let everyone know, and we were all merrily getting our reservations made, he and Eric were not.

I have apologized profusely and told him that if he had found himself without a site in the main group, I would have gladly given him mine....as I am only 20 minutes from this park, and could have just driven in each day.

Color me embarrassed.

And now.....back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I think we all know who our leader is, when and where's of this GREAT rally. We now just wait for the magical "Campers, get your reservations".
I tried to register on 12/10, which would be 6 months in advance, but was unable to. I then saw Maggies on the 11th and registered then. With the number of campers on the road and how soon parks fill, I try to get most of my reservations in early especially for COE Parks. One can always cancel.

Typically we have shot the gun for registration late in December or early January. Just to point out though, we haven't always done this rally on the second weekend of June. I think I moved it to the third weekend a few years back due to some conflicts with my work schedule. Prior to us moving to the lake side we definitely didn't hit that second weekend every year. Especially when the 1st of June occurred on a Monday.

So just to make sure you all don't get your reservations in on the wrong date, you might want to wait for me to fire the gun just to make sure that no one ends up reserving the wrong date. Going back since moving lakeside I've always made the announcement close to the end of December or early January. I don't believe that we've had any issues of not being the primary group or the only group in the loop when starting the registration late in the month or early January.

Luckily I got the last site in the F side of the loop. Of all years this was pretty important to me since if Patty's health continues to stay stable and we can make it after a 2 year absence, her mobility will be limited and I couldn't afford to have to locate at some of the more distant sites.

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone. We've only had one outing in the last 2 years and my only solace is that my Airstream is sitting nice and dry in a garage out of the weather extremes.

I'll post more as we get closer to the date. Obviously there are two sites available still in the loop and there are some nice sites in the E loop which adjoins the F/P loop by the lake.

For those can't make the commitment yet be aware that if you reserve now but have a conflict, you only lose $5 of your reservation deposit. And finally if it is late and you decide to come, there are a lot of non reservable sites close to the E loop that are easily obtained if you can get here on Thursday.
