I think we should wait, as this is a particular supplier pulling out, not the political closure of parks that we had some years ago.

I haven't heard a word about threats of power shut offs in this area due to non payment of bills by the state.

If I do, I'll let you know.

You guys just make the call if you need to and let us know what the fallout will be. We'll all show up just the same whether it's in Rantoul or LeRoy.

And don't worry about the spaces... as long as we're close. There's always a couple who can't make it last-minute and a couple who can. We'll figure it out and still have a great time. We always do!

Well, I'm getting psyched up. I went down to the trailers inside storage location and fired up everything. It's been sitting in a very nice insulated garage owned by a forum member, next to a restored a 1971 International Sovereign Land Yacht, 31 feet, and a 26' Argosy currently under restoration.

Since Patty and I haven't been out since September 2014 I was a little concerned about the mechanicals and didn't want to find a problem the week before we leave for Moraine. So we tried everything electrical and gas powered and found everything is operational. I breathed a big sigh of relief when the air conditioner/heat pump, furnace, and refrigerator all fired up okay.

So in a week we will go down and pull it out of the garage and dewinterize and make sure the plumbing and drainage systems are in order. I'll check the water heater operability at that point.

It's been a long pull for us with Patty's health so both she and I will be happy to see you all up at Moraine. I'll give you all information regarding movies, and our schedule for that weekend. Most of you seem to be getting there on Thursday and we will be there also on that day. Friday at 5pm will be the hot dog fest so those of you there by 5pm should come on over to our trailer where we will supply the hot dogs and buns. If you care to bring anything to share, that's up to you. But the hot dogs, buns, mustard, BBQ sauce and relish will be coming from me.

Glad to hear everything's going well with the coach, Jack. You've got one gorgeous trailer there! My biggest concerns after that time would be the coach battery and the tires... hopefully they survived well also!

We're planning on arriving Friday mid-day sometime. Laurie actually got the entire Fri-Sun time slot off this year!

On our local news tonight, it was stated that some donor came through and PAID the utility bills for the two Illinois state parks that were closed.

Is that not..the..most..ridiculous..thing.....private donors paying the SOI's bills.

There has still been nothing on the local news re threats of power shut-offs in this area, so we do seem to be safe from that threat, at any rate.

I am starting to sort firewood... culling out pieces too large for my woodstove, to toss on campfires at Moraine View.

Well we are just about 30 days to go. P22 is available from Silvertwinkie so if you are on the fence, you can pick up this spot right in the main area at this late date. PM him for further information. Also remember there are some first come first served sites close to us. If you get there Thursday you should be able to get one of those. The E loop also has some reservable sites that are also close.

Friday evening will be the hot dog fest at my trailer, Saturday at noon begins the open house and pot luck dinner at 6pm, followed by movies at dusk. More information coming in the next few days.
