Hi, everyone! Rob and the kids and their grandma and I are thinking about making it to this rally this year. Are there sites available? Is it kid-friendly--- i.e., Would we be welcome with such a large crew? It would be Rob and me (Katie) plus our seven kids (in every grade from 5th to 11th) Carter, Elise, Cary, Reilly, Claire, Kit, and Harris, And also Grandma Alice (Rob's mom) and her little dog Cookie. We have a very unique custom bunkhouse Airstream. Alice divides her time between Bloomington-Normal and here with us in Atlanta, and we just realized it Would be a really fun excuse to go the rally if we drove her back at the same time.

Check out the campground maps for site availability. We are in the P and F sections by the lake. Also some locations on the E loop are available. I'll be putting a list out by this weekend which will show who is coming and at what site. The first posts of this thread will give you lots of information.

For those who wish to help with a community service project, Maggie and I will host a blanket making party on one of the afternoons. We will be finishing some fleece blankets to donate to the House of Hope where Maggie's family stayed in Georgia.
For more details about the blankets go to the Quilting and Airstreams thread or PM me. (Alice) Anyone is welcome to help.
It would be really nice to see a service project become an annual event at this rally.

Such a lovely, generous idea, Alice. Thank you for suggesting it.
I am better with a crochet hook than a needle, but can surely do anything with a bit of your expert assistance.
Doug would be very honored.

Even the guys can sew some straight seams. If we can get them away from their fishing poles and maintenance chores and storytelling for an hour or so.

P12 is a good spot, away from gnats of last yr. only a few steps from where potluck willl be also pit toilet here no smell. These are some of reasons I chose P11 as I had this site last yr. Bill

Ok I've revised post 47 so we have 3 sites reserved whose occupants are unknown and P 12 still open. And as noted available sites in the E section and further up the P row if you are interested.

maccamper won't be there
Jack thanks for responding to Airtandem's question about whether we'll be at the rally this year.
We have realized that we'll actually be missing the next two Moraine View rallies. This year Papa/Uncle Laird will be sorely missed and in hot water if he isn't in Southern Illinois for Father's Day.
Sadly we'll miss the rally in 2015 as well but for a very happy reason. One of our nieces is getting married on the same weekend as the rally.
Looks like we'll have to catch up with everyone in 2016. maccamper is hoping to have that '66 Globetrotter renovated and ready to camp in then.
We do agree with the direction to keep the Moraine View rally scheduled for the second weekend in June. That consistency makes it easier to plan our schedules. These next two years, however, we just can't work around that weekend.

I just had a calll from Marianne Mickel that Jim passed last Friday. He had gone into the hospital on Wednesday with pneumonia. He was cremated and will go back to Michigan for a memorial service with his family.
If one remembers, Jim was a amputee and drove a AS motor home. The last time he was at Moraineview was when we were in "A" section.

I do remember him. I know even at the rally his health wasn't good. I'm somewhat surprised he has been around this long. They were nice folks.
