Looks like western Illinois is in the "prohibited" list.

At M-V. According to the woman who checked me in there are no known problems including the water. Would still be a good idea to come with your own water just to be safe.

Now let me tell you about my day - so far.

1. Stopped at a grocery store in Gibson City a few miles E of here and bought a couple of things. Left the store and drove about 15 miles when I suddenly discovered I had no wallet. Heart attack time. Back to the store as quickly as possible and I'd left it on the counter when I checked out. Laid it down when I fishing in my pocket for change. Happy to report every thing was in it.

2. On the road coming in to the park just before the T intersection and a deer wanders out in the road right in front of me and leisurely crosses while I've got both feet on the brake pedal. Thankfully she finally got out of the way.

3. Got to the site and hooked up electric and the breaker popped. Messed around with this and that and still kept tripping. Turned the main breaker in the trailer off and still tripped. Then it dawned on me - that damn transfer switch that so many people have had fail. Sure enough when I hooked up to front inlet power is OK. My warranty just ran out less than 4 weeks ago and now this. Haven't tried getting in touch with Airstream yet to see if they'll cover it but knowing them I doubt it.

Now going to bed. I'd crawl under it if there was any room.

Unless they made some improvements to their filtration, water up to this point has carried a lot of dissolved sediment which gives it a off color. I brought a filter one year to filter the water from the local spigot to fill 3, 7 gallon containers of water. A brand new filter was only passing through a small amount of water by the end of 21 gallons total. Personally I wouldn't want this in my fresh water tank, so my advice is unless you have a filter, bring in your own water to fill your fresh water tank. You will notice that all of the campground hosts sites who have water hookups are using filters.

Yes, the water is safe but doesn't taste good.

Bring your own. .

I do carry a pretty high quality water filter that I use at most campgrounds with hookups. Probably some of the worst water I have ever drank was in Florida. Patty and I call it slime water. I bought the filter specifically for a trip there. It really did work well.

This annual outing to Moraine View is probably the only trip where we carry a full load of fresh water. Normally we carry enough to flush the toilet while in transit. Filling that 60 gallon tank puts me close to max gross weight on the Classic slide out.

OK I made the correction. Raining here at my house on and off. I was going to wash the trailer but I think we will leave it alone. My luck even if it is dry when we leave, I'll probably hit the rain on the way up. Local weather said the rain tomorrow will be east of St. Louis.

See you later!

Moraine View rally

Sorry we can't make it this time; maybe the next. Enjoy your rally. Hope to meet you all down the road, soon.

Sorry you can't either. Just remember we always do the second weekend of June. Easy to remember!

No rain in STL. I'm heading out to gas up the van. Probably will be on the road in about an hour. Got just about everything packed except for Patty's stuff. See you all there!

Gas prices are insane here in the Bloomington/Normal area. Ranging from 3.99 to 4.19 a gallon. Exxon refinery maintenance is supposedly the cause.

Wow, I just filled at 3.43 a gallon. Unfortunately I'll need another stop prior to home. I usually go by the Dixie truck stop at the US 163 exit off of northbound I55. I'm not sure if it is lower than anything in Le Roy just off I 74. Looks like the cold front pass through. Wind is out of the north west. Still humid though.
