Latest long range forecast has taken the rain out of the picture for Saturday night. Saturday day has a 40% chance of scattered thundershowers with night being 0%. High about 87, so Saturday will be our warmest day. Friday looks to be the better chance of scattered storms. We usually lay the hot dogs out under my awning at my trailer so if a stray shower comes up, it really won't be a big issue. All in all, it looks like we will pull this off. By Monday we should be pretty much locked in on the final forecasts.
We just have to get through some rough weather in St. Louis today and things will calm down weather wise. I'm pulling the trailer out its inside storage Sunday and bring it home to dewinterize and sanitize the fresh water tank. Rather not risk the potential for nasty hail. I've already checked out all the appliances in April, other than water heater and water pump so we should be ready.

I know one person who will (he has every year he has come) but he's not confirmed that with me. So consider that there will be at least 2 mac and cheese sides coming.

we will pull this off. By Monday we should be pretty much locked in on the final forecasts.
Locked in on Monday? If you believe that I've got some fantastic Tropical Ocean Front Property in Northern Saskatchewan you'll surely be interested in! I'm currently NE of Lafayette, IN at Prophetstown State Park and like St Louis we've got a chance of severe WX tonite and tomorrow. Suspect that extends over to Le Roy, IL and Moraine View also so lets hope none of it materializes! Unfortunately unlike Jack I haven't got a nice covered place to keep my trailer in case it does.

Had two tornados come through the area, one traveling through the northern part of the county and one south. The northern one was worse. We were watching on TV and the hook signature of the southern tornado passed close to where I keep the Airstream stored. Then it continued east towards us. When they showed the path of the storm within 3 miles of our home, we went to the basement. Thankfully it stayed south and fell apart as it headed into Illinois.
The weather folks started broadcasting live just after six. They are still going hot and heavy since the northern storm held together and Illinois is feeling the storm at this point. Lots of tornados warnings with various degrees of damage in Illinois.

It has been quite the year for storms.
I've been thinkin' we need one of those old fashioned storm cellars dug into the ground.
Next weekend is going to be better.

Happenings in Le Roy, IL near Moraine View
Fun weekend for the community of Le Roy, IL the same weekend as our rally. Here's a link to a website with flyers and more info: City of Le Roy
Activities include a bbq competition, car/tractor/hot rod show with a cruise-in from Le Roy to Bloomington, a flea market, and the annual American Legion breakfast.
Le Roy is about 6 miles or a 10 minute drive from Moraine View State Park.
See you in a few days!

We live in just the right spot! The worst of the storms seem to always go to the north or south of us. In 27 years we've just lost a few tree limbs.

Well the morning comes and the pictures come in. North county took a beating and a big RV dealer took some major damage. He had privacy fencing around property and some of that fencing got driven through the walls of a 5th wheel and motor home on the lot. Other vehicles on the lot were slid around.
Apparently the weather bureau noted 4 tornadoes that touched down in metropolitan area. Thankfully no losses of life and the damaged areas are narrow in scope, with the worst damage in general in the north St. Louis County area.
Some homes were severely flattened, with one home, two story 6,000 sq ft. having its entire roof lifted off. Needless to say the TV news folks were all out there trying to get their scoop. One of the most bonehead questions asked by one of them was to the owner of the house with no roof. It's raining and the owner is walking her through the house showing the damage. Water pouring in all over. She then asks him the question "Do you think your home is in livable condition?" The look he gave her was priceless.
We are fine with no damage and the Airstream was buttoned up in its inside storage. Glad I hadn't brought it home yet. Tomorrow with sunny skies forecast is the day for it to come home for prep.
Looks like for those arriving early, Thursday will be the worst day of the weekend. If it's really ugly I might forgo getting there on that day and come early Friday instead. We will see. No use to fighting the rain to get there and then setting up and sitting all day in it.
Jack

Great to hear no one in St Louis area had any WX problems. See they got hit again in OK. Unfortunately I had a very localized storm here this morning in my computer and it was fatal. I'm now in the process of setting up a new one and trying to figure out Windows 8. See everyone next week if I don't have a stroke.

Here's a refresh from May which contained the last updated attendee list.
As of 5/25
Wow the crowd continues to grow!
Just a reminder that you can still reserve sites, and if you don't if you get there Thursday or early Friday, there will be ample non reservable sites close by! So far this is the biggest turn out we have had since moving down by the lake. Thanks everyone for coming!

We had a Saturday morning potluck breakfast last year, part of the 10-year anniversary. It has not been an annual event, and would be up to JC.
I'm neutral on it. Would happily contribute but not homemade pancakes for 45 or whatever it was we had last year. That was a special celebratory and honorary effort, for JC.

When we don't have a rally breakfast planned for Saturday morning, Laird and I like to go into Le Roy for the American Legion breakfast. Helps support the local community and local American Legion Chapter.
Silverflash told us about the annual Legion breakfast a few years ago at an earlier rally.
