Looks like the county we are in does not have the black hash marks but if you are coming from out of state or are bringing wood from an Illinois county with the black hash marks, the wood should be not brought in, even if it is not ash.

Again, I have no idea what the park is doing and whether they are truly policing the firewood or asking you when you enter. From what I have been able to research, there have been three reports of Ash Borer in the county. No reports within the Moraine Park boarders or in Le Roy.
The map does not show Kendall Co. as restricted, will bring wood unless you find any thing against Bill

We have two large bags of firewood loaded, and will bring those as well.....although have to remove our cool new hitch cover to put the hauler on the rear.

We are going to have lovely, cool mornings for fires with morning coffee.

My very most favorite time for fires.

We are not even crossing county lines!

We love being so close to this rally. Makes it very easy for us.

Paula & Carroll, I see you on this thread. Wish you could join us this year, but you do have a long, long way to drive.

Maybe in 2014.

I live in IOWA, but the wood is from Illinois; does that count? Fire in the morning and fire at night. That's camping; and for those that "hate" campfires; well, there is a thread on this in the "FORUM".

Looks like western Illinois is in the "prohibited" list.

At M-V. According to the woman who checked me in there are no known problems including the water. Would still be a good idea to come with your own water just to be safe.

Now let me tell you about my day - so far.

1. Stopped at a grocery store in Gibson City a few miles E of here and bought a couple of things. Left the store and drove about 15 miles when I suddenly discovered I had no wallet. Heart attack time. Back to the store as quickly as possible and I'd left it on the counter when I checked out. Laid it down when I fishing in my pocket for change. Happy to report every thing was in it.

2. On the road coming in to the park just before the T intersection and a deer wanders out in the road right in front of me and leisurely crosses while I've got both feet on the brake pedal. Thankfully she finally got out of the way.

3. Got to the site and hooked up electric and the breaker popped. Messed around with this and that and still kept tripping. Turned the main breaker in the trailer off and still tripped. Then it dawned on me - that damn transfer switch that so many people have had fail. Sure enough when I hooked up to front inlet power is OK. My warranty just ran out less than 4 weeks ago and now this. Haven't tried getting in touch with Airstream yet to see if they'll cover it but knowing them I doubt it.

Now going to bed. I'd crawl under it if there was any room.

Unless they made some improvements to their filtration, water up to this point has carried a lot of dissolved sediment which gives it a off color. I brought a filter one year to filter the water from the local spigot to fill 3, 7 gallon containers of water. A brand new filter was only passing through a small amount of water by the end of 21 gallons total. Personally I wouldn't want this in my fresh water tank, so my advice is unless you have a filter, bring in your own water to fill your fresh water tank. You will notice that all of the campground hosts sites who have water hookups are using filters.

Yes, the water is safe but doesn't taste good.

Bring your own. .

I do carry a pretty high quality water filter that I use at most campgrounds with hookups. Probably some of the worst water I have ever drank was in Florida. Patty and I call it slime water. I bought the filter specifically for a trip there. It really did work well.

This annual outing to Moraine View is probably the only trip where we carry a full load of fresh water. Normally we carry enough to flush the toilet while in transit. Filling that 60 gallon tank puts me close to max gross weight on the Classic slide out.
