doug & maggie graciously did host that breakfast last year and quite honestly it was their idea. As she noted it was our 10 year anniversary for the rally so I considered it something special. I made no plans for a breakfast this year so those of you going to the Legion breakfast in Le Roy, have fun!

Weather forecast is absolutely perfect. Best chance of rain is Thursday and even with that, it's only 20%. Looks like highs of 70-72 and lows down in the upper 40's. It's obviously going to be good campfire weather so dress warmly, especially for dinner and the Saturday night movie!

Here's the rules on bringing firewood in or taking it out of the park. I know most midwest states are trying to contain an ash borer which is playing havoc with ash trees.

Looks like we're all set to head down to Moraine View after a 4-year hiatus.
Should be rolling in around noon.
Sue will be bringing either a Texas Sheet Cake or Banana Trifle to the potluck. Apparently it depends on if the trailer needs to be warmed up or not.
See everyone soon,

Tom and Sue

Bill you can check with the park if you wish. I just posted the heads up because I'm not sure how aggressive the park staff will be on checking out your wood sources. I did post a link to the Illinois DNR site that details the policy.

It sounds as if a number of are going to the Legion breakfast; maybe someone should "warn" them.

Will have the staple Mac and Cheese and some other item that Ginny is considering.

Projector and screen have been packed and we're ready for a Thursday arrival time. See you all there!

You're in a true retiree mindset now . . . and that's great. We're anxious to hear of your adventures as traveling retirees this past year!

Yum!! on the food. So glad your house didn't sustain damage. We thought of tomato wine (and you two) a few weeks ago when we were heading past your location on our way to Tulsa.

Here's another link regarding Illinois firewood policy. Looks like the restriction is all firewood crossing state lines. According to the policy all wood is covered not just ash. Here's a link to the general policy. Firewood Regulations

Here is a midwest map of the quarantine areas. Within the state of Illinois, the counties in yellow with the black hash marks have prohibitions for transporting firewood outside of the county lines. Illinois EAB

Looks like the county we are in does not have the black hash marks but if you are coming from out of state or are bringing wood from an Illinois county with the black hash marks, the wood should be not brought in, even if it is not ash.

Again, I have no idea what the park is doing and whether they are truly policing the firewood or asking you when you enter. From what I have been able to research, there have been three reports of Ash Borer in the county. No reports within the Moraine Park boarders or in Le Roy.

The Gnats are bad and the Mosquitoes (?); Don't forget your repellant. Absorbine jr, works for the gnats, if you can find it. Just a FYI.
