Hi Dennis,

Can you bring your telescope weather permitting? We'll bring ours too. I don't know what the moon is doing, but it may be fun to check out the night sky. Our site is towards the water, so hopefully we'll have a good viewing area.

Sure as heck seems like spring here in Bloomington, IL. Maybe even June. Haven't we had some Moraine View rallies when we thought about bringing coats for chilly evenings?

Thumbs up

I am very much looking forward to this rally. Hard to believe it's been ten years. Met a lot of great folks here over the years, many I am proud to call friends. Some I found I drove a couple hundred miles to find they were only miles away from me in "real" life.

I recall that first rally night, when Brandi and I left at about 5pm on that first Friday. Got there about 9pm (Chicago traffic was brutal) and of course using Mapquest (who still uses that?!) took us to the LeRoy waste water treatment plant...a significant distance away from Moraine View. Drove through the Moraine View forest laden curvy road, all dark with only a slight light piercing through the woods making it's way to the windows of the car ever so faintly. Brandi said, "and just where did you meet these folks?" "The Internet" I said. An eye popping gasp was then shared....did we make a mistake?!

Not at all, and in fact this has become a summer staple....almost a right of passage for summer to begin. Hopefully, we'll see many of the regulars, the folks we haven't seen in years, and perhaps a new face or two, but regardless, it'll be great to see you all again this year- potluck, the movie and of course the obligatory campfire(s).

See you all in about 10 weeks.

I noticed that this morning, too.

Did copy the link and sent it to some friends from Florida who are going to Alumapalooza and may come by for this afterward. I told them I was making pancakes.

Glad you and Pam will be there this year! Yes, please. We didn't get to try the melon vintage. Someone gave it away before we got to sample it. Humm. I "wunder" what the weather will be that weekend. We'll have to keep our "Wunder" maps handy.

I had my trailer dinged up pretty good from Wednesday night's golf ball sized hail. There are about 20 dents but you can only see four or five from the ground.

I was away at a rally this weekend or the trailer probably would have been totaled. My gutters are a mess and my poor plants were butchered. Fortunately I have a flat gravel roof that doesn't get damaged by hail.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Steve.
