Moab Mothers Day Rally

Airstreams Forums Spring Mothers Day Hiking/Biking/Relaxing Rally.

I have finalized plans for our spring get together. We have 15 spaces blocked out at the Spanish Trails RV Park (435-259-2411) for our Rally. Our plan is to be there May 8 and leave on May 12th.

It is important to make your reservations ASAP - they will hold the block of spaces for about 30 days. We can probably have more than 15 spaces if we need it (right now there are about 30 available), but again Moab is very busy during April and May soooooooooooo we need to make reservations right away.

We will have the use of the pavilion if we want to - and I’m sure we will want to. My thinking is we do a chilli dump on Friday night, and Sunday morning the guys should cook for the moms, want to be moms or those who don’t want to be moms.

There is no rally fee since this is not a formal rally. - its an informal get together similar to last years New Mexico rally that will give us an opportunity to see each other again, or to meet you if you did not attend last year.

So thats the plan so far - lets talk over the next couple of months and plan the weekend.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Ken,

I plan to be there, but haven't made reservations yet. This is two weeks before school ends, so it will probably be just me.

Welp folks - this does not look like its going to work.

I had kindofa hard time getting the campground to hold spots for 30 days - Moab is very busy spring and fall and its hard to reserve spots.

Soooooo need to hear from y'all in next couple of days or I will cancel.

If this dosn't work - perhaps we can go back to Lake Heron in June like we did last year - perhaps June is a better time? We could do Moab in June - but its starts to get toasty.

Please let me know your thoughts

One more time.......

I know that this post has been read 218 times.

Please give me some feedback on this - I checked with the campground and they are encouraging me to wait on canceling and are willing to hold spots until the end of February

The reason this was put out there is because we received a large response last year to have this get together in Moab

Soooooo what happened - bad timing, mothers day weekend, can't plan that far in advance, don't like the campground, to far away, did everybody sell their coaches, do we need to go back to New Mexico?????

Would appreciate hearing from those who wanted to meet up in Moab. FWIW I'm planning to be there over that weekend.

Moab

I would like to participate, but it's a 2,000 mile round-trip for me.

Yeah, Moab really is a nice place. In the fall we spent two weeks camped at nearby Deadhorse Point State Park. A wonderful place!

We would be interested, but we were just there in October. We had a wonderful time and recommend Moab highly.

Hi Ken - we were one of the ones to express an interest in Moab, but like someone said above, that is close to school ending and with kids makes it hard to get away. We could probibly make it a bit later. Any chance of the date being more like the weekend of May 21st. It could be a belated Mom's Day (I wouldn't mind!!) I know we would love spending some time there. Just my thoughts. Thanks for trying anyway.

Thats very interesting - my first choice was the weekend of May 21st but I figured that would not work because of Memorial Day being the next weekend and I figured a lot of folks would have long holiday get away planned.

If that works better for folks, I would be up for it

Thumbs up So Much Fun!

This post has not been active for a while and since we just returned from our Spring Break in Moab, I thought I would share a pic or two to see if it might get the traveling itch going for all (not that it isn't already!). We stayed at Deadhorse Point and as stated above - WOW! This is a pic at the Deadhorse viewpoint looking way down on a road we tried the day before - a couple of spots where road met edge of canyon wall had us turn around yikes. We had a GREAT time, and would love to meet others for a rally there sometime soon.

Here is one more idea of what we did while there. Plenty of fun to be had!! This and the 4 wheel jeeping was heaven on earth for this 16 yr old.
