Holy crap! I just looked up the driving directions and it's four hours! That's farther than Turkey Run in Indiana. I may need to rethink this one. Eight hours of driving for a weekend of camping is a tough one.

This is going to be a great relaxing weekend, we'll see you when you get there, no rush to get in at a certain time.

It's casual Friday, Brian and I are providing hot dogs for the bon fire, a pot of chili and S'Mores!

For the pot-luck...
Chicken Noodle soup - yum!
Beef Stew - yum!

I think those are great ideas... it sounds like we're dutch oven cooking! I'll plan on bread or biscuits in my DO.

Four hours?? What map are you looking at... I need to look too. Maybe if you aren't taking highway 70 it's longer?

OK - Rudolph Bennitt is 25 miles north of Columbia from highway 70. The map shows me that is Columbia is 2.5 from Trenton, if you take 70. So I guess it would be closer to 3 for you by using major highways? It's up to you to decide, but boy am I going to be bummed if you decide not to come!!

Mine says 3 hours. We usually get to Columbia in 2 so I'm thinking 2.5 or may 2.75. we'll time it.

It would have to be a long drive for us not to come. Our trailer has not moved since we got back from Moraine View. Roger is dying to get it on the road again. He is taking his first vacation hours from the Garden this weekend so we can leave by about 1:00.

Shoot, everything's 4 hours from where we live (ironic to drive so far to do the same as our back yard--must be the company)! Looks like Bennitt is about 5-1/2 hours for us (by the way, Jo Ann is traveling this week and won't be home till late Friday--she'll hopefully make it up during the day Saturday). I've got a pecan pie and some aerosol fluff to add for Saturday potlatch. Also a campfire popcorn popper for Friday.

I will not be able to come up this year but I hope this becomes an annual event. It sounds like the perfect rally to me. Back to the basics and out of the hustle and bustle of big commercial parks.

Bad news. I'm at the dealership getting my 30,000 mile service. I knew I needed new tires and they were ordered on Monday. What I didn't know is that the front driver's side tire is worn down to the belts on the inside edge. I'm not going anywhere until the new tires get delivered.

Silver trailers are showing up at the Boondock rally site. Brian was first in and then Tina and Mike. We'll be headed up tomorrow. Looks like a great weekend.

Great weekend, guys! Always fun to see "old" friends and make new ones. Outstanding idea, Tina and Brian, and love the fishing trophies (pays to be the only ones fishing)!!! Thanks to all for help with socializing Genie, too--she had a great weekend, as well (totally zonked). Sorry Brian and Jo Ann had to take out early on Sunday, but we'll see each other in a couple of weeks in Branson. I'll dig out the guitar for that one. Keep us in the loop for the next great Missouri Boondock!!!

I agree - what a nice relaxing weekend.

Plenty of paddle time on a very fun lake, good fishing too, Brian (CCTaxidermy) won our tournament with a 15" bass and his wife JoAnn got one almost that big too! They were our die-hard fisherman, Brian (Tikiman) just decided to fall in after fishing from the bank and I think that was enough for him...

Thanks to everyone for pitching in to pick up litter around the lake, the weirdest object found was a single flip flop. Lots of lots bobbers, lures and soda cans and bottles and such.

Great times around the campfire, good food which seems to be the norm for camping with friends, and lots of fun stories. We all loved the dogs too - Lucy, Lani and Genie.

Rudolf Bennitt is a beautiful lake, a pair of Ospreys make their home here along with lots of other colorful birds. The owls obliged by setting the mood at night along with the coyotes. Very peaceful (once the daytime range shut down...)

I think we will try to do a repeat next year.

Thanks to all who came and Tikiman for hooking us up with MDC.

Thanks to everyone for making this a reality. Just got back from the Branson rally! It's been a busy two weeks. Hope to see everyone again soon.
