Sounds like you have it nailed down. I can't wait to see a gagle of airstreams in the g-loop. A cluster of shiny silver bullets certanly brings some excitment and color to the coast in the cloudy days of November.

Wow...I've missed you guys. Just got my laptop today, sitting here listening to the election returns. Yeah for WiFi
OK, Stef, I'll get the $$ and info to you asap. As soon as I get a cell phone, I'll call friends in Newport and see what kind of seafood I can scrounge up for dinner.
Wonder if I'll get any towing practice in before I hit the road. I think I'll go through Corvallis on my way to Newport....Watch out Jim

Do you mean you haven't towed at all yet??? Do you want me to alert the Highway Patrol when you pass through Corvallis and Philomath?????? If it's too much for you, you can always rent an RV space in my storage building ! BTW, the AS I emailed you about is still for sale (1978 28' Sovereign) if you're not happy with your present purchase !
Looking forward to the Rally,
Jim

We hope your AS is included.........it was such a popular thread on these forums! And the decision to buy the wrecked frame from the insurance company to rehabilitate it was a heroic decision! We would all love to see what you've done with your "twinky"!!!!!!! Please come??????????????????
We'd love to visit with you

Ha! Maybe I should buy that Sovereign...then I could have two trailers I'm afraid to tow Really, all I need is an escort so please do alert the Highway Patrol.
I'm sure I'll get in some towing practice in the next week or two...really!

Ok then.. I think I'll assign Annette pull-though #28 She'll be relieved enough if she manages to tow it to the park, no point in making her back it in!
Jim, any thoughts as to which space you want? I'll suggest #33 if you don't mind a back in.

As I understand it, if you want to show up early I'd recommend you reserve #33 for Thursday night yourself. Then you'll be in the right place for Friday.

Hey Stef, have you talked to my PO? I know he went to California but he and his kids always seem up for a trip.
s'mores. well. okay....but I was kind of intrigued by the scotch and cuban cigar offer at the Nor Cal rally
Jim...I agree. The forum's been quite lively lately.....

Yes, I let Dusty know about it, but he's going to be in CA that weekend. Those Airstreamers get around!
The Oregon Unit is having their luncheon that Saturday at 12:30 at the Eola Inn Riverview Restaurant, 4250 Dallas Highway, Salem, Oregon. We will be driving over to join them for that, and although the hosts can't make it to our campout, they wanted to let everyone know that they are welcome to come to the luncheon as well. There's plenty of room, so if you want to come meet the other folks in the unit, feel free to join us.
And we'll all be back in plenty of time for dinner and S'mores!

The Western Oregon Unit is having their annual meeting and election of officers on Saturday in Albany at Oxbow RV park. They've invited me to their luncheon, but I will also be coming back Friday afternoon for a Memorial service for a friend who died.....so don't think I want to make two trips to the Valley while on the coast.

Hi Stephanie,
It looks like I will still be up in Oregon that weekend so I would like to join in, with my 1971 Safari. I would prefer a back in site if one is available. I will email you for specifics.
Thanks, john

Sounds good, John. Number 35 is a back-in, that will put you right next to JordanDVM. Just email your full name, number of people, and tow vehcile license plate # for the park paperwork, and you can pay the $34 when you get there.
It'll be good to meet you finally!

Shoulda planned our little move to Bend a little earlier now that you mention s'mores... LOL.
We're in Green River, Utah after about 450 miles from Santa Fe today. Staying in a hotel of all things - due to many factors. The A/S pulls like a dream as always. We've dubbed her the "Silver Suitcase" for this trip - she's our life support - there's eight of us (including critters) in the Touareg - no animals in the trailer. Here's how it works:
2 people upfront, obviously.
1 person in the back seat, the big side is folded down.
1 German Shepherd next to the person in the back
2 pet crates in the cargo section with a cardboard panel on top - in the crates go our cats, water, food, and little litter boxes and on top goes a large sized dog donut bed.
2 small dogs ride in the donut bed (of course, the Russell has spent zero time in the bed and 100% of the time on the lap of whoever is riding shotgun...)
They all seem pleased. We stop every couple of hours for a RUN.
I think we deserve an award for efficient packing, don't you?
We'll be staying in Idaho tonight if all goes as planned and will pull into Bend on Saturday. Still not enough time to rouse the troops for a mini-rally, though. Wish we were there. You all have a great time and check in with us for the next one.
Here's a pic outside of Moab, Utah at Wilson Arch late yesterday.
Have a great day everybody!
