Great, glad to hear you folks can make it as well! I think I'll see how manmy people we have by next week and then make the reservations myself, and then you can pay me back when we get there.

Just to make it clear, this is not an Oregon Unit rally, it is just an informal get together of people who may or may not be in the WBCCI More of a forum rally, I guess. Everyone is welcome, of course, but the president wanted me to make that clear for insurance purposes. Less paperwork this way!

I contacted the park, and they said it looks good for G-Loop, which is water and electric only. The park has a dump station to use on the way out, so I figure we can all rough it without sewer hookup since it's only a weekend. Spots are $17 a night. The spots with full hookups get taken faster, so that's why he thought it would be easier to get a group together in the water/elect sites.

I'm just not sure how to go about making reservations and making sure we all get put together. If we can get at least five of us, they waive the reservations fees. So pipe up if you really can come, and we'll figure out how to get this organized. Maybe when I have a number of people who can definitly come, I'll just call and make the reservation.

This will be a simple rally, just a get together. Plan to cook for yourself, and maybe we can organize a dinner out at a restaurant. There's lots of beach walking, hiking , lighthouse visiting to do in the area. Bring kids, dogs, and kites if you like!

So, who's in?

What day should the soup be?

Stephanie,
After you make reservations, do you want to post what to bring for the soup (and what day... Saturday)? I'm not a huge fish fan (but my wife is), so I guess one fishy and one veggie (kids will probably drink broth! . Bringing some celery, tomatoes and carrots and potatoes would be no problem. I could also make some dough for bread... or is it BYOB (bring your own bread).

Janet, we'll bring a train whistle to blow at night... just to bring back good memories!

Golly - thanks. I always sleep better with freight trains shaking the trailer every 40 minutes. I've decided in future to drown out train noise by playing REALLY loud music = say from the Clash, all night long.

On our trip to OK and back we were woke up every night by passing trains. It seemed so quiet when we finally got home!

Janet, you're the brains behind the dinner party. Lets work out a list of what you'll need, so we can plan it out ahead of time.

Anita, glad to hear you can make it, and all the way from CA! Wow!

Let me know if I can help. I have lots of friends in Newport who would be very happy to track down the freshest fish from the sea (and oysters, clams, crabs) I think I might even have some tuna (from this year's catch) socked away somewhere in someone's freezer that we can throw into the pot.

It looks like Janet and me will be hosting dinner.
It looks like a giant Saturday night Paella feed. One full boar seafood and one along the Vegetarian line. How does that sound?
We will need:
Shrimp
Clams
Crabs
Mussels
Veggies
Good stout bread
Salads
Deserts.
Please PM me if you can help with any of these items.

Anita,
We'll look forward to meeting you at the mini-rally, as well as everyone else coming! Cheryl (my better half) and I are new to this sort of thing, so we're unsure what to expect, except we know how to have some real fun. Thanks Steph for suggesting the venue so close to us (Washington coast is just as scenic I've heard). I could arrive early on Thursday pm to set things up if need be as I'm only 80 miles away!
I hope nothing is set in concrete, as I hate to have an itenirary I can't live up to!!!!!!!!!!!! Just give us one day of sunshine.................. or some heavy rain, so I can say I'm glad I'm under my ZipDee today!

Jim

How about refreshments?

I also have a recipe for a great Sangria wine (hot) if anyone's interested

The complete schedule so far is arrive sometime Friday (or Thursday if you like), I have to go attend the OR Unit Luncheon in Salem on Saturday noonish, then there's the big Saturday Dinner Janet and Gary are organizing, and then leave sometime Sunday.

I'm not real big on those rallys where they keep you busy the whole time. I like to get some walking on the beach in, some time to relax and read a book, time to sit around and chat, just a laid back, easygoing weekend.

Buckmaster, you are welcome to swing by. Another couple from Troutdale who's motorhome is currently motor-less was going to swing by to visit as well.

So so far we have 'for sure's from
