Agreed, the rally wouldn't have been the same without Gary and Janet organizing the dinner and breakfast, hauling along all the great cooking equipment, food, and tarps to keep us dry. Thanks much!

Just home - we had a great time - even with the abundance of liquid sunshine. I love these forum rallies -everyone pitches in and makes it fun - really fun. Stephroberts made it happen, jordnandvm does wonderful coffee and breads, campcollector schmoozes the local rangers and gets us tlc from the park guys, ms. campcollector quietly and efficiently facilitates evrything and does great desserts, cjohnson brought a cooler full of fun and I got tour loads of nifty twinkies.
We got to meet new folks, heard outrageous fish tales, watched gary fall in the lake, laughed and laughed and laughed, got great ideas for our next project, toured a new town and generally had a wonderful time. Where are we going next????

Great Rally!
We had a great time in Battle Ground SP! Thanks to Steph for hosting....and thanks to Gary & Janet for supplying all the cover and cooking hardware and providing a delicious dinner and breakfast to enable us to eat well. And Stephanie and Jonathan....thanks for the firewood to keep us warm and the delicious desserts and egg/cheese casseroll! As before, Jonathan kept us laughing with his "Ranger humor".....my laugh meter was pegged!!
Also, Gary......thanks for providing prizes for the "no holds barred" fishing contest. As you saw...some took liberty in bending the rules.
Besides renewing friendships and making new ones, the highlight for us was being able to tour everyone's ASs. Daroll brought his friends, who had examples of his cabinetry handywork in their ASs. Thanks Daroll! Chris.....thanks for sharing your pics of your Caravel.....it will be neat once you're finished!
BTW Janet......the CD we bought was excellent.....listened on the way back home.....esp like the "Goose Poop" song!!
Finally....thanks to the new folks who braved the rain and showed up......we enjoyed visiting with you, seeing your ASs, and look forward to seeing you at the next rally!
I added a few pics from the rally (more on photos forum later)

Just fishing and looking for a place to cast from.
I looked at that log and said I'll bet that's slippery, and it was!
It was more like stepped into it up to my knees, straddleing the log.

Battleground was an interesting place - unusual businesses were the order of the day and the fish are unique too. Here is one of the more memorable places on main and .... ta da... the first place winner in the fishing contest. The lake was freshly stocked - but I'm not sure with what....

Thanks to everyone for letting us ask a lot of questions, look at your trailers, and show off our photos. Everyone was so patient with us. We hope to have our trailer ready for the next get together. Thanks everyone! Stacia, Martha, Hobie and Roxie

Welcome to the forums, lots will be going on in the future.
I don't know of anything formally planned at the moment. We have a few ideas in the works but nothing firm.
Just keep coming back and you'll see it when it happens.

I think the next time we have a chance to get together might be this
Trout Lake Festival of the Arts
We can watch Janet and her group perform, then check out all the arts and munch our way through the festival. Not a formal rally, just sounds like fun!

Fishing prizes useful

We took advantage of our fishing prize provided by Gary (Janet's Husband) today. It was a detail package.......enabling us to wash our "twinky" with the Rubbermaid bucket, sponge, towels, and brushes! This worked really well and wondered why we hadn't put together something like this before (and I really wanted the other prize of the pink flamigos?? but gave in to Cheryl's better judgement) ! Thanks to Gary & Janet for the prize (although we don't think we really deserved it since we bent the rules to the max)! I guess we provided some entertainment!
BTW, on the way home, as we exited I5 at Corvallis exit, we were passed by a 2005 25' CCD from CA.......we exchanged waves and we then pulled off the road so we could empty our bladders from the excitement of seeing another CCD!!

OK.....what do we have to do to make it happen? I support the arts, and would attend even if no other forums members attend (but wouldn't be as fun)! Do you think we can get enough forums members ....esp from the Portland area? With Gary and Janet essentially working that weekend, I would expect someone else (or maybe co-hosts) could come up with the main meal/breakfast over the weekend. The weather should be more cooperative and chance of sunshine would be much better than last GTG. What are the campground choices?......I think I remember a post somewhere from Janet about this, but couldn't find it in the "search" button. I think I even remember about her description of a county CG that is nearby. Others please chime in!

Trout Lake Rally
This Portland area Airstreamer would love to attend but unfortunately that is the weekend of our family reunion at my house. Don't think I can bail on that. Otherwise we would be there in a cooking mode--it's our turn.
