Steve,

Has everybody made their minds up on what food they are bringing?

I can't decide.

Armadillo Eggs are little golf ball sized pieces of breakfast sausage that have a slice or cheese and jalapeno rolled up inside them. I smoke them, but they could be cooked other ways.

Pics...

Oh my goodness, sausage and cheese together! Those look absolutely delectable.

Glad you're not making them til Saturday night, when we will be there.

Don't know how far you are from Hidden Springs State Forest just east of Pana----but it is an absolutely beautiful, serene place. No hookups nor even showers, but $8 a night.

Graduation is right in town, but Pete is working 12 hour days on both Sat and Sun and doesn't want to drive down just for dinner. Hopefully we can get together with you guys next spring. Pete's job and mine are both going long this year for some reason.

Have Fun!!

Seriously thinking about twice baked sweet potatoes. Or, just fried potatoes and onions. I got a week to make up my mind. Maybe something else will strike my fancy.

I drove out to Cuivre River State Park in Troy, MO this morning and they had 4 or five sites available. What's better than that? Mcair is joining us for the weekend!

Don't know where that is, but have never met a State Park we didn't like.

Have a great weekend, you guys.

We'll bring all the items for a "Shish-kabob" assembly line.
Marinated beef and chicken with all the veggies, so we can all make our own custom kabobs under the pavilion.

I'll think of other stuff for Saturday....

Happy mother's day to all you moms out there.

We just got in and unpacked from a weekend at Cuivre River State Park with mcair. We joked about how most campers make hot dogs on night one, and hamburgers on day two of their camping trip. Last night we had Smoked shrimp, smoked pork tenderloin, salad, chips/dip, chips/salsa, pasta salad, potato salad, spaghetti and meat balls, and pineapple upside down cake. Oh well, not everyone can camp like Airstreamers. Thanks again for the heirloom tomatoes Roger (I hear there may be some at the rally for give aways!).

Here is an update for food.

Friday May 14 - Communal morning coffee, 6 PM Potluck
Soldiermedic- Bowl Smoked Shrimp, Mixed Green Salad, Bacon Ranch Potato Salad
64CardsFan - Cowboy Caviar
My1ststream-Shish-Kabob Skewer assembly line

Saturday May 15 - Communal morning coffee and doughnuts, 6 PM Potluck

Soldiermedic- Smoked armadillo eggs, Pineapple upside down cake
64CardsFan - Fresh Green Beans w/ bacon and potatoes
doug&maggie-Dutch Oven garlic rolls, something else
