We are inviting all Airstream forum members out to an informal Memorial day gathering at the Whittington Woods Campgrounds near Rend Lake, IL. In the spirit of the holidays we are making this a buddy rally for anyone interested to bring along friends in their campers whether it is an Airstream or SOB.
The park is very large with individual spots having alot of room, and being mostly level. Full hookups are available, but there is a dump station for those taking a site for water/electric only. Prices vary depending on the site hook up. We will receive use of the pavilion and fire ring with free firewood at this rally.
I am planning on being there -- have left a message with the campground that I wish to make reservations and have made out my check to confirm my reservation. By then, I know that my Cadillac will be ready and I should have everything ready to go.
Kevin

I missed the first rally because I had to help out my mom. But we have Memorial Day open so I have called the campground and reserved a spot. She said she was going to put us next to Steve and Amy! We will try to be on our best behavior! I swear. We will probably be there Saturday afternoon. See y'all then.
OK Steve is there going to be a food contest? Roger loves to show off his cooking skill.
I'll have to think about that one. I would be open to suggestions for such a contest if we were to have one.
Best sandwich cooked in a pie iron on the fire? Best pie iron dessert? Appetizer? Main dish?
It is memorial day, so maybe I'll bring a case of MREs (Meals ready to eat) from the Army, and people will have to engineer new dishes out of the contents (Just kidding).
This rally covers the weekend with some people arriving on Thursday evening
Ok, great. I guess I should have introduced us a little. We're Pat and Pete Benoy. Got our airstream last summer in Las Vegas where we got stuck with a little truck problem.
I posted a bit on the board about a year or two ago when we were thinking about getting an AS, but then we changed our minds when gas prices went so high. Then changed them again when there just happened to be the perftect AS for us sitting on the lot across the street from the campground we were marooned in. Fate. We maybe met up with some of you all if you were at the big Rally in Montana.
Can't wait to meet up with you at Rend Lake if they still have room.
