Midwest Forums Rally 2006
Well I have had a few questions from others and even with the travel season winding down, thoughts of next year are already surfacing.
For those of you interested or needing to plan vacation time, we will be coming back for year 4 of the Moraine View Midwest Forums Rally. The dates will be the second week of June, the 9th, 10th and 11th. So mark your calendar and we will do it again. Expect the initial information to come out near the end of February.
Link to official Rally Notice.
Regards,
Jack

Woo-hoo!!
Thanks Jack. I mean to show Eric that the SS Special Edition ain't all it's cracked up to be. The FB and double-ended pano windows rule!! (I almost said 'rock' but that has too many bad interpretations...)
With aloha,
Bob

I dropped my trailer off my dealer's today and was telling them about the rally. They asked me to tell them how they might be able to participate. I'll be thinking of what that might be.

Re: Midwest Forums Rally
CAN YOU SAY, "DEALER INCENTIVES", I KNEW YOU COULD! IT COULD BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR THE NEXT RALLY! YOU MIGHT EVEN GET THEM TO BRING ALONG SOME AIRSTREAM/DEALER TYPE PROMOTIONAL ITEMS TO SPREAD AROUND FOR THE RALLY PARTICIPANTS. AS WE ALL HAVE ALUMINITUS ANYTHING THAT SAYS AIRSTREAM ON IT IS HIGHLY PRIZED! !!!!!! ED

Yep you have my thoughts exactly. I'm hoping that maybe they might come up with a trailer or two.

I will try very hard to make this one. I might have Shell shock with or the Aluminum tent. Time will tell.

You bet. Electric is a must. If I recall, year two..... it was a warm and humid one.... the A/C units were working overtime and I think one unit had their A/C unit fail.......
Bob you are right on with those front and rear pano windows, to me that is the best part of that model!
We're in! I think this is the earliest start we've ever had talking about June yet!

I just found out I will not be able to make it. The schedule for the work trip I go on with the my High school youth group has been moved to a week earlier. Thus I will be getting him on the 11th.

FYI, I have put the rally on the new calendar feature of the forum. Just go to the portal page and click on the rally calendar link which is located in the quick link box. Chose June 2006 and you will see the rally. The calendar has a feature that allows you to click if you are going. It also has links to the campground, pictures from previous rallys, and a link back to this thread.
Here is a direct link in case you don't want to go through that.
Moraine View Rally calendar entry.

Comming soon...Year # 4!
Just an update, I'm going to call the folks at Moraine View tomorrow, to confirm the date and get any further information relative to the reservations, and when we can start the reservation process.
I expect a bigger gathering this year. Most likely in the 35-40 range since we will be getting at least 10 units from the Greater St. Louis WBCCI unit who are planning on coming.
Bottom line, start looking on the calendar and start your thought process. Remember than you can cancel prior to the event and you will get all but $5 of your initial deposit back. Last year we had to turn away folks who waited until the last minute since the campground did fill up.
Thanks for your support.
Regards,
Jack

Thank you Jack! I know you'll keep us informed. Lookin' forward to what your dealer can provide in terms of programming -- and downright normal info sharing.
I just noticed on my profile that my only TV is a 2002 Subaru Outback wagon. Such is the fate of no travellin' in mid-winter! Bet that doesn't stay up long................................ My goals in the next couple nights is to get Susie to see if her legs fit Ford or Chevy better. She sure liked the adjustable pedals on the Titan. Remember guys & gals, keep the heck as far away as you can from those high-impact airbags!

Sure, come even if your not in an Airstream! We have lots of aluminum foil on hand and have a specially trained crew that can turn most anything into a silvered beauty. Our problem is the riveting. We seem to have problems with applying them to canvas.....
Regards,
Jack

Woo Hoo
We're in for coming to Moraine, too.. I just added us to the attendee list on the calendar page.
We'll volunteer to be the movie screen and popcorn supply again.
Luna said it TICKLED HER to show movies on her side, but she'll be a happy camper and do it again.
I'm looking forward to June; it's a loooong winter and it's nice to have something fun on the horizon.

We have penciled the date in and are planning on coming across the border for the weekend. Do you really have campgrounds down there?

Alas, poor Jack, we cannot make the dates. We made it to #2, and had a pretty good time. That was a hot weekend...the trailer tours were pretty cool, too.
I have fond memories of meeting you guys...
We still have the whirlygigs, and put them out when we camp.
I still use the name sign, too.
Will keep trying...
