For some of us, Moraine View is as close to Normal as we'll ever get!

food & scale

It is probably about time to post the food thing. I will make a blue berry dump cake and a hashbrown casserole

I would like to know the tongue weight. will we be weighing before or after we eat

Looking forward to a fun weekend it shall soon be upon us.

%$&^I and a question

When I got out to the campground last night I was hemmed in by these *&^%#&% white boxes! I am not sure I can get my camper out, even if I cant, I will be there! ANYWAY, this is my first rally and I am not up on what is normal (local jokes aside) so I thought I would ask this: I have a big ole rottisserie cooker that can handle a 13 lb turkey, would that be an ok item for the pot luck thingie? Thanks

hi gen disarray and other omnivores...

isn't the theme all things feathered?
turkey works....
some are feathered..
i'm bringing wild turkey....
but that's another subject

yes alcohol is forbidden in this park,
which means it's hidden in this park,
as i recall there were jugs'o wine in full view,
at the state park of moraine view....

back to the bird....
i've seen the reminder here
more than once
that dinner is served at 6
not cooked at 6
and the shared food only need feed 4-6...
that's 3lbs of turkey each!

plus you might spend all day cooking it?
so do what's easy
and save time for fun things
like weighing your tongue
or the naked tiki torch parade...
or pin the tail on the flamingo
or the puppy toss
or the ritual sacrifice of a vintage trailer
or small child
whichever has a smaller tongue weight...

remember
this is supposed to be a more laid back group,
just south of normal
and much less formal
than the white shirt rallys
made famous by wallys
so forget the beret
and come to play
and bring a bird to flambe'
just don't bring a bowl of salmon-ella!

i sure hope those sobs in the sobs move in time for your departure!

cheers

bambi damage ...

.... here are a couple photos (promised months ago) of the hinge that popped when my bungee cord gave way on the interstate. door still closes & latches but it's obviously not sitting properly & the hinge sticks out. not sure i caught the proper proportions on how the hinge sticks out.

so i hope the offer of a little muscle and/or riveting is still open! i have a rivet gun here at the house but have not a clue how to work it or whether i have the right kind of rivets or ... in fact, i just generally have no clue.

Hey Joe,
Lucky you, getting started already.
If you need help getting that wild turkey out of your trailer I have a pint glass, so I'd be pleased to help!

i think when my door is seated properly on its hinges, wild turkey inexplicably yet conveniently pours out the door handle into the hands of the helpers. i wonder whether that's any incentive for anyone ...

well summer kid, that neat feature WILL get some attention!

there will be many skilled handymen at this rally,
surely someone can help you and the door hinge

i know virtually nothing about vintage repairs....
but dont you need those big beefy rivets for this application....
not standard pop rivets,
but olympic rivets or solid rivets or some such thing?

if you bring all the proper bits, i'm sure someone can help...
why last year it only took 3 days to change a the fan on a new fridge....
i've got a strong back and a weak mind.....or is it the other way round?
anyway i can lift for ya.....

but i'm not so good with tools....
all thumbs......

cheers

Here's my sad, politically incorrect joke:

WHY do they have the Illinois State Special Olympic Spring Games in Normal, Illinois, when NOBODY is?

(BTW, I am excused from being PC)

Obstacle Course

Look at what we have to go through to get to our own street.. our street has been under construction for over three months, and access to our business has been shut down for all of those three. It's been CRAPPY.

They finally opened our driveway last week.. and we had to argue for THAT! I don't see why the great City of Rockford can't take note that there is a RETAIL BUSINESS sitting here and they might need a driveway. Jeez.

In any case, Gary did a great job of getting Luna throught the constructiona nd safely home. (we live on the same stratt that's under construction)

So, within the next day or two we will have a full systems check done and she'll be good to go.. remember two years ago, we came sans Luna because she was torn apart and left laying all over the garage.. no AC, which we could have lived without, but the electrician had dismantled her, all at the LAST MINUTE!
