Mid-Missouri Fall Boondock Rally
Join us this October for the 4th Annual Fall Boondock Rally at Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area.
This is an off-the-grid boondock arranged by special permit, adjacent to a 48 acre lake located between Columbia and Moberly, Missouri. Kayaking, fishing, hiking; campfires, potlucks, and good times. This will be the fourth year for this perennial fall favorite. Come and enjoy the fall colors with us while listening to the owls and coyotes.
Note - you will travel on gravel roads to get here - there are NO amenities, no electric, no water… except the lake. :-)
The Rally RSVP page is located here: Airstream Forums - Mid-Missouri Fall Boondock
You can find out more about Rudolf Bennitt MDC here: Area Summary
Here is the thread from the 2014 Fall adventure: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...-a-121900.html

Mount'n Man Brian is off in the wilds somewhere and due back the first week of October. Maybe he'll come back with another new hat to show off…

Hi Guys! Mount'n Man back on line in the lower 48! Alas, no fresh moose meat this trip, but still plenty vacuum-packed in the freezer. What say we have roasted potatoes and moose chili Friday night around the campfire? Potuck for Saturday? The camping permit is in hand, Dutch ovens packed and I'm looking forward to some paddling in a nice calm lake for a change!
See you soon,
Brian

Chili Festival
Welcome back, Brian. Looking forward to hearing tall tales of your trip.
We Boondocked this weekend at a chili festival in Lupus, MO. It's a fund raiser for the town of Lupus ( population 33) and there was plenty of chili and good music. We got a laugh this morning as some of the festival attendees that "tied one on" woke up in their boondock campsites; in cars, open pickup truck beds, on the ground, and tents way too close to the railroad tracks! (The overnight temperatures were 45 degrees)
We'll see you in just a couple of weeks.
Eric

Anyone brave enough for a small pot of authentic Cincinnati Chili to go along with the traditional moose chili? Coney's and/or 3-Way's for the adventurous? I'm a Skyline man from way back, not that icky Gold Star stuff--just can't travel too far from my roots.

Someone else is going to have to take dessert duty Friday night. We have a funeral to go to in Ohio this weekend, so we are going to miss our favorite trip of the year.
Y'all have a great time and have a bowl of moose chili for us.

We have a family obligation on Saturday and are out of vacation time. For the first time ever, we will miss a Bennett party. Take plenty of pictures!

Schedule
Brian, I'm considering camping on Thursday (after work) and then picking Kathy up in Columbia Friday afternoon.
We should all be able to get a lakeside camp site.
I'll bring a load of firewood too.

And then there were three.... I'm planning to be there Thursday evening assuming I get all my hay moved this week. Jo Ann will be en route from her latest audit Saturday and back to the airport on Sunday, so it'll just be me and Genie for the Boondock. Looks like one pot each of chili and a half dozen or so taters should do us for Friday?

Maybe Steve's IPhone got wet
First, a BIG thank you to Eric and Kathy (SilverBuddha) for coming to Genie and my rescue. One flat tire on the way to Bennitt was bad enough, but a second on the gravel road out Sunday afternoon was too much! What are the odds? Kathy was kind enough to trailer sit with Genie while Eric and I toured Moberly and tracked down a couple new trailer tires at Tractor Supply. Made for a really long day, but at least damage was minimal (first blowout was a tread delam on I-44 and resulted in a fist sized hole in the underskin) and I have a fresh set of skins for the next few years... As Eric said, "Leave no 'Streamer behind!"

Hi guys, looking at my calendar, the only weekends I have free on my dance card would be May 19-22 or June 2-5. Thoughts? I can help set up the permits for any weekend, but those two look like the only ones I'd be able to "host".

I think you should be host, 'cause I'm hoping for more of that blackberry jam you spoil us with.
Either weekend works, but preference would be for June.

2016 Spring Boondock
Greetings all,
We just un-winterized (temporarly) and are camping in St. Charles for the weekend. Bill Thomas RV installed an awning package on our 25' FC and we're hoping to get a lot of use from them, as the weather warms up.
May 19-22 would be our pick.
Hope to see everyone at the Eureka Springs Rally in April.
Eric
