OK, gang, I've been working on trying to get a date settled for a spring Boondock at Bennitt Lake. Was trying to get memorial day weekend, and we can do that, but MDC says absolutely no camping on the grass that weekend due to high visual exposure to the public. The only other weekends I can host are May 8-10 or June 6-8, we can camp on the grass as usual those dates. Thoughts? Permit's not a problem either way, just the grass issue and higher traffic over Memorial Day weekend. Also, she mentioned they would be reworking the new gravel pads by the lake in April, so the area is likely to still be torn up and soft. Let me know if any of these dates work and I'll secure the paperwork.

I've been looking forward to this one.

May 8th the average high temperature is about 74. June 6th may be a bit sticky at 82. I'm good with either.

We missed 2014, but certainly enjoyed the previous one. Our vote would be for May8-10.

Our spring is filling up fast. May weekend is probably best weather wise.

This time I've got a generator, good batteries, and Yakima racks for the kayaks.

Got back from my trip to Texas and the permit had come in the mail. Looks like we're in for a spring Boondock at Bennitt!

Check with Our host on early arrival, I think parking near the lake is by special permit only and for the dates permitted! But camping near by is an option! Lot of sites on the hills above the lake area!
And we may come a day early as well!

The permit for off-site camping is good Friday-Sunday, however early comers can use the new gravel camping sites available by the lake. I'm hoping to make it Thursday afternoon.
