Mid-Missouri 2015 Spring Boondock, Rudolph Bennitt Lake
Back by popular demand, Bennitt Lake is the place to be for a springtime "Back to Nature" boondock. Sorry for the short official notice, but we've managed to once again arrange for a special use permit from Missouri Department of Conservation to camp adjacent to the 48 acre Rudolph Bennitt Lake in Rudolph Bennitt State Park. The Permit is for May 8th, 9th & 10th, 2015, which also happens to be Mother's Day weekend.
RBSP is located 19 miles north of Columbia, MO on US Hwy 63, then 5 miles west on Route F, then 2.75 miles north on Route T, then 0.5 mile west on County Rd. 2930. Canoes, kayaks, and boats with electric motors are encouraged as the lake is beautiful this time of year, and the fishing (MO fishing permit required) has the potential to be entertaining. We will have a campfire/weenie roast on Friday and potluck on Saturday evening. There is a pit toilet on site but otherwise, be prepared to boondock. There is no fee for camping at the park.
I'll see if I can figure out how to do a sign-up page, but in the meanwhile, RSVP to this thread and I can get a trailer count for weenies and a little something for the Mom's in attendance.
Here are some images from last fall's Bennitt Boondock

Planning on it, but my fall schedule is going to involve a big block time of out of state, so someone else may have to host. I can line out the contact info at MDC if someone is interested.

Thinking ahead for the Friday evening get together... You folks rather have a wienie roast with Dutch oven baked beans or Dutch oven baked potatoes and a pot of moose chili to top them?

Sounds good. Yep, Clam and panels in house-way cool! Also have a 10x10 EZ-up we can set up in the common area by the fire ring if the weather doesn't cooperate. I'll bring a few tubs of wood, too.
