Belly up to the Bar Boys :)

But I want to "sweeten the pot" with more than that.

If we have 25 or 30 at the rally then a bring whatever you want approach is fine. Right now, we are talking 8 of us. It is very possible that we could end up with 8 main dishes, etc...
Carol is taken care of, she has dessert! Five pound Hershey bar? HOLY COW!
Just let everyone know what you are bringing then. That would be great!

We will bring a main dish. How about a crock pot full of sloppy joes?

Since we're rolling on this... count us in for an appetizer. I'll volunteer my wife's famous olive nut spread with veggies and crackers, and probably some graham crackers and marshmellows too

How soon do we hope to confirm the campground and start reserving sites?

This would be my first rally

Steve

I am bringing a Smokin' Lou's specialty!

Well, I like this better than a random drawing of sorts!
I will bring my smoker and three or four brined chickens! I will start the smoker Friday night or really early Saturday morning. Come dinnertime Saturday you will all be drooling from the smell!

Steve,
I will close the poll on May 6th to allow everyone to vote that wants to vote. I am hoping to get some from the Metro-Detroit WBCCI to join us.
Right now it is looking like the majority do not care where it is held. Maybe we chould just do it in my backyard!

Only three more days until the poll closes!
After that I will contact the winning campground and have them hold our spots!
I will also have them try to keep a few more around us open for any late-comers or WBCCI members that decide to join us at the last minute!
Any questions, please let me know!

OK.
The voting has ended and it looks like the top vote-getter was Covenant Hills in Otisville, MI.
Since "Either one will work for me!" came in second it looks like we will be holding the rally at Covenant Hills. I have already been told that we can have use of their pavilion for our potluck dinner at do additional charge.
I have sent an e-mail to Becky, the Office Manager at Covenant Hills, outlining that we will need a minimum of 12 sites and a maximum of 25. This will allow for any late-comers that would like to attend.
I will have the details for making your reservations sometime tomorrow. I am assuming that all we will have to do is to call up Covenant Hills and tell them that we are reserving a site for the Forums Rally in August. If you prefer to be next to someone special please be sure to tell them that.
I will post more as soon as I know more.
Also, some of you have sent me your contact information already. It has since become buried in my sea of e-mail in Outlook! DOH! I have now set up a special folder in my Outlook for this information. Could everyone that is planning on attending please send me your information. I would like to have the names of those who will be attending so I can do up something special for all of you. Nothing extravagant but something that shows I appreciate your company and fellowship. Please include your address and phone numbers too. This is not mandatory but it may be easier should I need to call on anyone for a favor.

One more thing we should discuss is who can bring, or do, what?
Here is a list of things we need done or to be brought to the rally:
Firewood
Simple signs for the front of the sites
A greeter or two? Someone(s) who can be there a little early on Friday to welcome attendees?
Spare electrical cords, (if someone is short or forgot theirs).
Spare water hoses, (same as above).
Spare sewer hoses, (same as above).
Ideas and what-not for the potluck dinner.

I know that some of this is probably ridiculous to ask but a dumb idea is better than no idea!

We have two electrical extensions for trailer and two or three lighter duty outdoor cords and at least three extra water hoses, tell me about the simple signs, have you got an example?

Ooo ooo, I prefer to be next to someone special, oh, and who would that be? Just kidding.

Bring what you can bring for extension cords and water hoses. If you can get them to fit bring them.
As for someone special, you can camp next to us! Then I will have someone that I can cram my two kids into your trailer as you are leaving!

Lou,
I carry two extra 25' 30 amp extension cords which are always in the trailer, and several white hoses. I will also bring fire wood as I have a large supply. I can arrive early and help with greeting and parking or whatever.
Jim
