I'm pacing myself... I am going to live to be a very old grand dame so I didn't want to run through all my firsts in the very first half century.

Hi Laura, I must be very, very low tech. I received a note that I have joined the group, but how do I open the Metro-Detroit forum? The only thing I can find is how to leave the group. Sorry

Bill, when you click on the "Forums" tab at the top of the page, near where the "portal" tab. Then the first forum list from the top, it will say Metro-Detroit, click that, you should be there then!

Hi Mike, I figured you were going camping while I was loading the dirt bike and hooking onto the Airstream Friday night in the rain. Woke up in Baldwin Saturday to frost and sun, about 3:30 pm it started to rain, then a while later we had snow. Great weekend, a furnace would have made it a perfect weekend.
Hope you had fun - Derek

well look out for next weekend as well... We will be at the South Haven Family campground in South haven, MI... It is a Hallowen thing for the kids. But you are welcome to come in coustume as well... LOL It had better be a "Alaskan crab fishermen, in full gear" to stay warm and dry... Hey wait that is a great idea... Where can I get some plastic crabs???
We were cold and wet friday night setting up but shorttly after dinner it stoped rainning. Sat was cold but sunny, great time to be outside. Saturday night was cold but the furnace ran well and finally burnned out the stink so all is good!

Brad will be leaving Door County next week heading North, stopping at Wells State Park and then coming back down over the Mackinaw Bridge around October 22nd. We also thought about going to Pictured Rocks, the Porkies, Taquamenon Falls, or Wilderness State Park by Mackinaw where MD rallied last fall.
He's already had a dusting of snow up at Ellison Bay so not sure what the weather will be in the UP by then. I may take the AS or just grab a sleeping bag and meet up with Brad for a day or two or three. If anyone else wants to meet up we can coordinate and synchronize and hash out some details together.
I'd like to check the foliage maps for location and plan to do some hiking for photography. Brad will have his bike and I might as well throw mine in the truck then too. Of course a campfire and some Baileys is a good way to stay warm in the evening.

Carol, beautiful pictures as always.
Dick is in the UP this week, he has been there with the trailer for a month, Grouse hunting with Duncan. He has had a bit of snow already and the weather reports I keep looking at are cold. I am thinking he may be home this weekend but not because of the cold. He has a deer hunt scheduled to begin the last week in October and I will get to have the Duncan here while he is gone again for a couple of weeks.
