Adios

Hey all,

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the October rally! Derek and I are headed to Grand Teton National Park for a bit of R/R (if you call mountain climbing, mountain biking and hiking 'til our legs fall off rest) on Wednesday. We'll be back around the 18th (as long as we don't fall off the mountain. Or get eaten by Grizzlies). Don't talk about us too much while we're gone, Lou.

Cheers!

Renee,

Just as soon as we know you are gone....
We will be telling tales and making up stories!
Have fun and don't do anything I would do!
We will be glad to have you back when you get back.....

I sure am glad that Kirk and Beth will be there. I dunno what I was going to do for my morning coffee without Beth!
Also, if you look again, you will see a name that is new to most of you but not new to me.
Breakaway is a heck of a nice guy that lives a few miles from me. I sure am glad to see that he is going to be able to attend.

Guess who else is coming!

Annie and Marvin are going to make it!!!!!

Gosh, I do not know what I would have done if I would not have gotten to see the people who coined the term "Louscrew" this year!

One More Thing!

I just read the Walnut Hills Campground page and the nightly rate drops after Sept. 24!
Sites are only $20/night! I am going to come in on Thursday and leave on Monday morning now!

I'm trying to talk Lorrie into this rally. It would be great to see all of the usual suspects again! And it may be our only remaining opportunity to use the trailer this year. Stay tuned.

I see that we are up to 9 sites!
I have NEVER EVER camped in October. Usually, my camping is done by Labor Day or earlier. This is gonna be a first time for me and the family.
BTW, I just ordered the CIPA slip-on mirrors for the Silverado!
My fiberglass cap, tube steps and contoured mud flaps are to be installed Friday morning!
After that, all I need is the hitch! Anybody got a shank and hitch head they want to sell? I really want the Equal-i-zer but I have everything I need but the shank and hitch head for a traditional trunnion bar set-up.

LOL
It gets a little cooler up here earlier in the year. Most campgrounds are closing up around the beginning to the middle of October.
Come to think of it, I gotta get the pink stuff for the water lines soon! Soon it will be 20 degrees outside and snow up past our belly buttons! YIKES!

Sometimes Sept. and Oct have the best weather for camping. Warm days and cool nights. Makes that campfire feel real good my friend...

Yes, but I think I will forego camping up here in Michigan during the months of Nov.-March!
I am pretty thin-blooded for that. Plus, what is the fun of staying in the trailer for most of the trip? I have two little girls that would go NUTS if I left them couped up in there for anything more than a day!

Those are perfect months to take your Airstream and travel out of Michigan.

OK - I dun it.

Lorrie and I are signed up for the Rally here (but I still gotta call the campground to offically reserve a spot). We will be there Friday thru Sunday for sure, but may consider adding Thursday and/or Monday onto the trip. I guess we'll call in the reservation as soon as we figure that out.

And Lou, October Camping is great provided you have a working furnace or other source of heat (just make sure you have propane in your bottles - no not in your beer bottles - in the bbottles that are attached to your tongue - no not your tongue - the trailers tongue - oh, you get the point).

Lorrie and I have camped in October before and will do it again. In fact we might have planned a trip for the 3rd weekend in October this year if I didn't have to travel for work then.

See everybody soon - it'll be here before we know it.

Hey as an aside, is anyone going to the Fall TCT Rally/Flea Market at Camp Dearborn (Sept 13-16, 2007)? Lorrie and I may drive in for the day Saturday to visit the Flea Market & Open House (both officially scheduled for 11am-3pm). Just wondering if we'll see anybody there that we know. If others drive in for the day we could always plan to head out to dinner at some nearby restaurant as a group afterward.
