Happy belated Merry Christmas and New Year to all of Lou's Crew!

I haven't had any time for the Forums since my work trip to China at the beginning of December due to a number of reasons, and will continue to be scarce here for a while more, but I would be up for a mid-winter Louapalooza (or is that Crewapalooza?). Keep me informed if something is planned for Lou's basement or anywhere else.

Hi, Ralph! Just dreaming of our first trip in the Safari this year. We already have lakeside reservations at Port Crescent SP for the weekend after Memorial day. And I have new gear. Shell got me a new dutch oven, which I still need to get seasoned and a GPS unit for our hiking and kayaking trips. I'm dying to get out in nice weather. Only takes a couple of days of cold and snow and I already have cabin fever!

Hey Guys...

Cool to see some activity with the local group here....

I am (most likely) the newest member of the Metro Detroit Unit......and am anxious to meet some of you and get on with some serious (and also some not-too-serious) Airstreaming this spring...

I have a 1969 23' Safari Twin (single axle) that is a clone to the one my Grandparents owned from 11/68 to 8/76.

I was fortunate to be able to travel extensively with my Grandparents every summer during those years...as a very young boy, and I have very vivid, and fond memories of many local Michigan Unit rallies, and about 5 International Rallies.

Guess that qualifies me as an official "Airstream/WBCCI "Brat", then eh???

Lookin forward to meeting you guys, hopefully i may see some of you at the monthly dinner, down in Wyandotte in Feb. (just 5 mins from my house)

Take care....

When it is my time, I want to go peacefully,
And in my sleep.....Just like my Grandfather....
Not screaming, kicking and in a state of panic,
like the other passengers in his car were......

Hey all!
Happy New Year to all of "Lou's Crew".
I am sorry that I have not put anything out concerning the potluck "camp-out" in my basement.
I am recovering from pnuemonia. On the bright side, I did quit smoking because of it!
How does a mock camp-out/potluck at the Patterson's sound? We have a very large, carpeted basement with a really nice fireplace. I was thinking that we could all bring out our camping chairs and have a nice "campfire" and enjoy some good food and beverages!
We could also discuss this year's LPPI rally. Andy and I came up with a cool idea for this year's rally. We thought we could theme it as "The LPPI Goes To Hell" and we could have it near Hell, MI.
Let me know what all of you think!

Scott,

Welcome to Airstreaming.
I have been camping in Airstreams since I was still in my Momma's belly. I have never really camped in much else.
Bought my first one when I was 16. I am now on my fifth one!
You should really think about joining us this summer at the LPPI rally too. Tons of fun and we all get to act silly.

Hey Lou, does this mean we get to scout the campgrounds of Hell this spring? We're in for a campfire, pick a time and date.
