Just walked in myself (along with me and I) Thank you Lou and Candie. Had a fabulous time. It was so good to see everyone again and meet new friends too. Food was great, home fires warm and cozy, fun for all. Can't wait for rally time!

We missed you all!
We were sorry to have to miss the party. Sounds like you all had lots of fun and good food. So when did you decide to do the next rally??? Do we have a date and a place??? Keep us posted!

Hey Lou and Candie....
Thanks for a great time yesterday.... It was nice to put a face to a few of the names that i have seen, but never met.... I definitely left your place MORE informed, and way LESS hungry than when i first arrived!!!
It was a short drive to my uncles from your place, and Cameron and i had a great time there as well....
I hope to meet more of the Michigan people soon.....
Thanks again for your hospitality!!

No problem. My home is your home. That goes for all who attended; and a few that did not.
As soon as we get a list of the campgrounds from John we will narrow it down to a couple of them and then vote on where we go.
To give all of you a sneak peak into things here is a little information on what we hammered out last night:
We looked at about a dozne campgrounds ranging from as far south at Ohio, as far north as Bay City, as far east as Howell and as far west as just west of Lansing.
The dates that we are looking at would be either Aug. 3-5 or Aug. 10-12.
Once we get a date nailed down then we should really think about starting a new thread.

You betcha! LOL No I didn't. Besides I was my own designated driver, (and having a full vehicle along with myself and me) I would have had to swear off the recipe Saurday night anyway. Well yeah there's more to me than me, like the crown head, WE!
John was doing all the searches online and sounds like we have lots of places we could go.
Too early to vote but I would like to get a little further from home and Ohio (I seem to always be there) and see some new places and territory. Michigan has some great parks. I don't care if it costs a little more at the end of the weekend but location can really be a big draw. Of course Florida would be a big draw this time of year but that forums rally really took off because of location and the great park we were in. Location, location, location. If it has a view of one of the great lakes and real hiking trails, so much the better. I think we maxed out our little place last year.
Nice meeting our newest joiners, Nancy and Richard, Scott and Cameron, (he was a great fire tender!!) and Ryan!!!

Just thought I'd drop a line and say that Lorrie and I had a great time at Lou's Underground Getdown. Lou and Candie are fine hosts!
As for the 2007 Metro-Detroit LPPI Rally, if Lorrie gets a vote, it will be near lots of antique shops. Of the places added to the list of contenders on Saturday, CG's near Quincy, Jackson, or Toledo would fit that bill. I can't remember where the other possible CG's were.

Thanks Joe and Lorrie.
As always, you are far too gracious.
I will be sure to look for antique stores nearby for ALL of the choices. Only because Lorrie makes a MEAN shrimp dip!

I was wondering if anyone would like to volunteer to help this year.
I know that Harold has no problem driving out to any nearby campgrounds and that John is in charge of logistics.
Steph mentioned that she would like to help as well.
I was wondering if we could get someone to help find a graphics company that could do shirts again? I thought the shirt thing at the first rally was pretty cool!
Let me know what you guys think.
Lou

Sure Lou, just let me know how I can help. Another thought...if the graphic arts place doesn't work out, another option is with cafepress, and people could choose their own t/sweatshirt style too with your rally logo on it. I think they did that for the can opener rally, and Jamie set one up for the women Airstreamers that was really cool( rivettes).
l was wondering if it would be useful to have a couple of kids' activities, not too structured but available and easy, I'd be glad to bring some stuff for crafts/games or even do some kind of a scavenger hunt thing?
