Around midnight, everyone laughs as that guy from Ohio shows up late again.......



This always a high light, and my favorite part! Last year I won $20.00 betting his arrival time.

And we get to laugh at the guy from Ohio Who arrives way late,way after dark and then parks cross-wise of his site. Well,at least he didn't hit nuffin. I can't emphize enough what fun we have had in past yrs. Dan's rite,I also was amaze at the variety of dishes that seemed to come out of thin air and were delicious. You have to admit,some are just food wizards.
And I think we saw the luckiest guy in Airstream history (U KNOW WHO U ARE) he seem to win everything in sight.
It was great fun and I am glad I didn't miss one minute of it.
I can't hardly wait either Dan.

There is the campfire too! What a campfire! There is always great food there. Pudgy pies, campfire s'mores etc. And jokes and stories....oh boy! Last year we had a professional fireman attending the fire! We will miss you, Buck! And the funniest part is....all of the old folks end up sitting around the campfire til wayyy after the wimpie younguns go off to sleep.

Look here, some of us were up at the crack of dawn and were amazed by the path of distruction left by you un-chaperoned oldies! Besides, us going to bed left the mosquitos to feast upon you!Hmm, on second thought, it seems there may be more "younguns" this year. You may be ousted yet!

Hi,
After reading the posts about possibly having the youngins take over and oust the oldies from the late night fire tending, I am wondering if I will be part of the ousting or the ousted. As a virgin metro-detroit rallier, I have no idea which side someone in their mid 30's would be on.

I am pretty sure you will be a "youngin". Larry and I are early 60s. We are in the "other" bunch usually. But time will tell!!!!

Good question...come to think about it, I am not sure what side I am on anymore.

Is there a don't ask, don't tell group? If you stuck with the oldsters you would definitely be a youngin. Of course if you are one of the children even 20 something might seem old. All relative. Age doesn't matter unless you are cheese!

And there you have it...Metro Detroit After Hours and it most likely isn't so much about a predisposition to a particular age demographic as much as there exists a predisposition to adults and their beverages and their interests... Those youngins go in after their beauty sleep every time or simply can't keep up, but the experienced oldies and goodies know you only live once and sleep will come soon enough... Party Hardy MD, I miss you all already too!!!!!!!! We used to have "full moons" in the "olden" days but that doesn't hold a candle to the new buzz about Big Al, the lady killer.
