Oh, gosh. That's not good news. BUT: a little hopeful news - I've got a friend who's had multiple emboli several times and now is completely under control. Hope the medicos can sort this one out fast - as they say, "they've got a pill for that." Hope Brad is o.k. and on his feet soon, 'cause I know that this is really scary! Hopes and prayers goin' your way.

Brad's doing well and impatient to move about. They will downgrade him to a regular room in a day or two. Guess at this point it's a matter of moderating the blood thinners and many many blood tests. He says the eggs were bland and he wants to be home. The doctor thinks the long truck drive to the UP triggered this. Recovery and resumption of previous activity levels will be the sticking point with Brad I am certain. Some changes will probably be in order and patience will be required. They were amazed he went so long before seeking medical attention. He's got that "persistent" streak, you know. Shake it off, walk it out...yeah who needs to breathe, ARGH! He actually extended the trip instead of going to the ER or getting back sooner because he enjoyed the surroundings so much. He doesn't listen to this old nag after this many years. And I am feeling much better and brighter today. There is nothing like a good scare out of the blue to snap your priorities back in good order. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement. It appears they are working. Now if I can get the man to become addicted to AirForums, the time will pass quickly, don't you think? Thank heavens for medical science and the wonders and care of the health providers. It is amazing.
Toastie the campground is the lakeshore campground and there is a campground also in the pines. It is Wilderness State Park in Carp Michigan. It's a favorite of ours and about 11 miles to Mackinaw City just before the bridge to the Upper Peninsula. Hey, are the girls planning that woman's spring rally? That would be cool!
DNR - Wilderness State Park
Well off to bring Brad a few things and have a visit. I will post more pics tonight. The island and boat trip was a great side trip.

Well represented were the fur babies. Chandra and Jeffrey's Rio, Dually, and Liberty, Steph and Dave's Dixie (once again sorry, I am remiss in the photo department...Steph have a pic handy?) Then Brad's Koa and my Kee Kee and Orie.
"Auntie" Laura is a real animal lover and I suspect she would have a farm full of pets if she had the room.

Hey Guys....
Gee, i'll bet y'all prolly figured that i dropped clean off the face of the earth.....
But actually, no such luck!!! haha!!!
Short answer, it's just been a really crazy year now.... had lots and lots of big changes here, and hadta just prioritize a bit.
But all is well now...the Airstream is tucked safely away in a building in Temperance, Mich, as is the 77 Continental tow car... Hasn't moved since i put 'er away in November of last year, but i'm sure all will be well when it's time to unearth her.
Sorry i missed ya at the Metro Detroit Annual Rally... and it would figure i logged in just a few days too late for the Mackinaw City event.
Anyways, i promise to keep in closer contact from here on in!!! haha!!!
Hey to everyone.... Lou, Buck, Ralph, everybody!!!
We'll see y'all soon.... Happy Halloween...
Scott.....

Saturday morning and Steph and Dave were out in their kayaks bright and early, then walking Dixie with Brad and Koa, playing with Sam, some stayed at the campgrounds and some went off to the island. Rain threatened, then tried to start now and then, but kept giving up, and all in all it was not a bad day be out at all.

The Grand Hotel is pictured first. The island was really bustling. The Sea Biscuit is owned by a friend of Jess' and Grady's. Nice looking establishment.

It was so picturesque I was having a ball walking around shooting pictures. One could easily find plenty to do for a week at the least. The ship lines have a pass that would make it attractive for commuting.
Don't you love this ornament? Each individual ornament was as detailed and cool as the next, all hung from a pink feather boa tree.
There were so many buggies and carts and wagons, from the posh Grand Hotel ones to the utility variety. Word of caution: Watch where you step! And that wasn't rain water at the curb afterall!

I tried walking over to the Grand Hotel before and after lunch but I was not making good enough time by foot, or was it because I was stopping so often? I recommend hiring a buggy or renting or bringing your bike to cover more of the island than the main street and there is soo much more to the island then the small part pictured here. There are natural areas, the fort, the butterfly house, just to name a few.
The second picture is the post office. I saw two different sets of brides and grooms. But the really funny sight was seeing a half dozen bridesmaids hiking up their long gowns and walking through the well manured streets...sorry no pic of that either.

We met for lunch at the Chippewa Hotel in the Pink Pony. I had the gargonzola side salad and the french onion soup and it was delicious and more than ample. Everyone's entrees looked yummier than the last! Had I not run out of room and time I would have gotten some Mackinaw fudge or ice cream to nosh on, or perhaps the caramel corn.
From the deadpan on the driver and the entreating look and angle of the little girl on the front seat, I wondered if the driver wasn't silent like the palace guards.

I loved the quaint yellow corner hotel with porch, fence, lattice and beautiful flowers. Then the second wedding couple. Do they look pensive?

Thanks Jess. He's my wonderman! Seems the doctors and staff are amazed. Tried to impact us with the seriousness of forestalling treatment as we reponded we only thought it was pneumonia, which they said should not be minimized on its own right. Seems we have minimal medical history but the prognosis is definitely in and we have been unequivocally declared "old" for a fact and must make amends and be duly concerned. I take it that means availing ourselves of many services to come. Oh Nelly, it's been unleashed now. Anyway he sounds good, looks great and looking forward to coming home. He's bored out of his mind. Now me I like hospitals and being served... He got strawberry shortcake in bed tonight while I'm eating nuked smok-y-links alone. We gets what we gets. Morale of the story, be prudent and live to the full, and DON"T get OLD kids.

Now a few miscellaneous shots before heading out.
