Largest Airstream Rally?
Thoughts on which rally (or rallies) are the largest, or most popular? Which are "don't miss"? Is feedback on previous years rallies posted anywhere? I'd kind of like to attend one where there will be the most Airstreams to drool over :-)

The four corners unit Balloon Rally is a don't miss for sure. I haven't been to the restoration rally yet, but it has good turn out and being a vintage owner is a good bet. Other good bets the annual Vintage Airstream Club rally (haven't been). Really any forum rally is a good choice. Some are pretty big. Moraine View is a good one- been there.

We did the Vintage rally in CO a few years ago - there was a lot of drooling to be done there!

The largest Airstream rally in the world is still the WBCCI International, to be held this year in Gillette, WY. Lately it has been getting 800-900 trailers.
The second largest rally is the Florida State Rally, held in Sarasota FL. It seems to get about 350-400 trailers in recent years. Dates this year are Feb 16-21, 2010.
Alumapalooza is expected to have about 100-150 trailers this year. It will be in Jackson Center OH at the Airstream factory, June 1-6, 2010. Some other WBCCI Region rallies will get 100+ trailers, but that varies from year to year.

just so happens RIGHT HERE we answered this exact question...
for 2 years worth of forum gigs and with lots of crooked voting and photos.
here's the data and links...
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f232...6-a-34073.html
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f232...7-a-37689.html
all of the rallies listed above have there OWN THREADs...
so browse the rally section and read the posts, check out the pics and drool on the 'puter...
while the WB internat' is the largest in terms of # of streams...
you won't get to TOUR the insides (except the vintage section) and the actual event is a business meeting,
for wb' CLUB members only.
besides 'streams all look alike after awhile.
still if ya wanna read about going to 1, here's the thread.

there are a lot of little/fun gigs in the nwest, find a date that works and go naked!
cheers

OK 2air, I realize you are the to go to guy for answers. I can only dream about using the search as successfully as you.
On the two links you listed I only saw trailers and a couple of UFOs listed. My question, are AS Mohos allowed or are they not counted or are they counted as trailers. It would just seem that if UFOs get counted maybe us Moho guys might be recognized.
Just wondering, Dan

hi dan
it was easy for me 2 find those 3 threads, check the o.p. in each...
sure mohos are allowed, in fact MOST 'forum gigs allow any brand/shape of rv, even home cooked...
and even tents.
yes the mohos are lumped in with the traylas.
i considered using the term 'units' or 'vessels'
but as an old moho'r myself, i just lumped all the GROUND based things 2getha'...
and guess what, we've actually dealt with THIS QUESTION here also...
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f207...ics-18910.html
cheers
2air'
on edit, if one goes back to the earliest daze here, when dino's roamed the forums...
there were 'moho only gigs'...

i recall a member trying to organize a moho even in 06? but it didn't gain much steam...

Thanks, I'm glad to hear we weren't being left out.

Thanks again, Dan

The Texas vintage rally draws 100+ trailers in February each year.
