It doesn’t look like I will be able to make it to the northern Illinois or the Georgia fall Fling due to time, distance, and the price of dead dinasaurs…. So I was thinking about the idea of a weekend forum rally in Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky at the Energy Lake campground for later this fall. I just stayed in this camp ground this weekend and it is FANTASTIC. It is run by the national forest service and has that ‘feel’ but has electric on most sites and outstanding shower-restroom facilities (no dump station right there but some available in the area). Campsites are $15/night and reservations can be made.
I’m thinking a laid back sort of deal, maybe some fishing, and going over to the Elk and Bison Prairie and the Old Home Place if there is any interest. Maybe a combined meal or so.
Any thoughts?

Any of those dates are fine with me actually. I really do like that campground though. You ever been there? I was thinking we could target A loop, right on the water.

I was hoping this thread would draw more interest than it has. How about it. Anyone else out there interested in a mini rally in West Kentucky. Beautiful land.

Mmmmm This sounds fun. Any idea what camground might be best? Piney, on the TN side has hookups and other ammeneties but there are also more primitive campsites to boondock. Energy on the KY side is very cool...

The plan so far is for Energy Lake Campground. It is real nice

Ya left out Detroit!
I make that trip in 10 hours from Detroit.
I love it down there.
I may be able to make a weekend in October.
I am voting for one now.
Thanks for thinking of a rally for that time of year.

Does Energy Lake have hook-ups?
What about the A.C. of E.'s Canal Campground?
Brown's Point looks out onto the Barkley Dam and the tugs w/barges go right behind the campsites! It is SOOO cool.
Also, all of Brown's point has full hook-ups. It is really neat to be RIGHT on Lake Barkley too.
Just a thought.
