I’m thinking a laid back sort of deal, maybe some fishing, and going over to the Elk and Bison Prairie and the Old Home Place if there is any interest. Maybe a combined meal or so.
Any thoughts?
We just finished the Metro-Detroit Rally and we had a weenie roast on Friday and a potluck on Saturday.
Let me see if I can drum up some support from the "Yanks" and see if I can get a little caravan down there.
Also, "MichaelS" here on the forums bought a 24 foot Argosy this past spring. He is down in that area and I will see if I can roust him and get him to come along too!
This would be just what me and the family needs before putting the Minuet away for the winter.
I just posted a reply in the Metro-Detroit rally thread about your rally.
I would like to get a couple of others that would want to caravan down there. I am hopeful. It would be a shame to miss out on such a wonderful place.
Since I'm going to the rally in Hiawassee, GA. the third week in October, gas prices may keep me from attending LBL. On the other hand, I had planned on bowhunting at LBL and the season starts the third weekend of September. I just might make the Sept. date (I'm holding out voting for a couple weeks) or possibly the first Oct. date.

October is the only month that works for me.
I need to plan ahead of time for work and my consulting biz. Right now it looks like I am out as the voting is headed toward Sept.
Maybe next year.
I will be at LBL this October regardless though.
Voting will end on this on wed so put up your preference today! To keep things simple, I think we should plan on the Energy Lake site. I will get a spot up on the rally callender later today or tommorow----Cant wait to see ya there!

Energy Lake has electric hookups (get your water on the way by the hydrant) also be aware that you have to use one of the dumpstations elsewhere in the park. The campground also has new showers/restrooms, campsites on the shore line, a playground, and boat rentals. The sites are large and level and also fairly new. The campsites are well spaced, it has a nice near-boondock feel if that makes any sense.

How about reservations ? are there a lot of spaces that time of year ?
Should be plenty, I will post the information on the campsite reservations in a few days when the date poll closes.

I was down at Energy Lake back in 2004. Nice place.
I like the feel of Canal Campground because you are right on the shoreline and can see the tugs go by... right at the end of your campsite.
Barkley Dam lit up at night is really something too. It is really enat to sit at your campfire and look out across the dam.
They have full hook-ups there too. Water, electric and sewer.
Im in there for the Canal Campground, I need the full hook ups, My gray tank is like a thimble, small,,,,, the boats and tugs would be cool also , I checked it out at reserve USA , browns point loop .
it would be cool to Caravan in my Caravanner , I always wanted to say that !!!!
I got a nice smoker Grill to take ,
