Tin Can Luv,
Let me count the ways.....
1. It has a salvage title, there for I can not license it. Yet.
2. It has major rear end sag and seperation.
3. No water tank, water pump, water heater, furnace, fans, fridge or black water tank, just to name a few of the major items that are missing.
4. The traier has four different tires on three original rims and one replacment trailer rim.
4a. The running gear is no where near ballanced.
5. I do not have a clue if the brakes work are are servicable.
6. I do not have the correct hitch or brake controller.
I would love to drag the trailer down there with me. Maybe if I (by some miracle) I can button up the rear end and go over the running gear, I could barrow my neighbors hitch and controller, I would be ther with it in a heart beat.
As you can see I have removed a little more stuff.

I was just wondering if this is an official rally.
Is this event only open to WBCCI members or is this an open invitation for anyone on the forum?

Officially (Rally? What Rally?) !)
From my understanding... it is an informal gathering of persons that happen to utilize airstreamsforums.com and that might or might not own an airstream.
It has not been officially designated as a rally, WBCC rally or anything other than an informal gathering so as to hold harmless anyone involved in the attendance, set-up or organization of said occurance of numerous airstream owners or wan-a-bees who happen upon each other at Moraine View State Park on the same weekend (June 11) and perhaps enjoy some good food, music, antics, beverages, stories and comeradery.
Hope to see you there by chance.

Curious, but asking
I am fascinated by the idea of all your AS's being in one place that we could see, not to mention the fun of meeting you all face to face. Remember, we are the mid-Missouri members (with an SOB) who are really Airstreamers in disguise, at least wannabe's! Would such outsiders as we are be welcomed at your rally--if not camping, at least driving in for a day to visit and see all your gorgeous Airstreams? This would even give us an excuse to stop at Bill Thomas's on the way. How about bribes? b---? w---? homemade Maidrites? We have so many questions that need asking and no one local to talk with. Curious, no set summer plans made yet, just checking with you first.

Hi, maxandgeorgia!
I'm sure that all of us (well... I'm not sure about Tracy, but... ) would welcome you for any or all of the "informal gathering of persons that happen to utilize airstreamsforums.com and that might or might not own an airstream". All you need is (lemme think about this...) a Toga, something to disguise your adult beverage (that you won't have in the campground), a pillow, and something to ward off VooDoo spells. You sends your money in and you gets your space! You don't even need to bribe us... (but the MaidRites sound pretty good to me!)
Look forward to seeing you there.
Roger

I believe that I heard the Bill Thomas Dealership usually has a Rally in Mid-missouri once a year...in addition to the one at the shop? You should call or visit their website for specifics.
Stop by the whole Park campground was a only 1/2 to 3/4 full during last years event.

Thanks, I think!
Thanks, Roger. Another plus about this forum. You do make everyone feel welcome to your group. Hmmmm, Toga, pillow???? Seems like I'd better read some back posts! Or do I have to guess? We'll get out the calendar and check some dates, then decide if this is a can-do. I hope we can 'cause it sounds like too much fun to dare miss!

Just talked with the boss and it's a "go."
We are going to try and attend if we can get the reservations!
Having a little computer problem at the present but I'm going to try and get the form/forms printed out!

Hey Maxandgeorgia, This is our first year that we'll be there, and we can't wait. However, You should take the time to read everything from this posting, and make for darn sure you want to attend.. the first first page can scare you off
Look forward to meeting you all, and as we are, you might want to bring a toga...just in case they're serious.
Oh, and as suggested earlier, you might want to purchase several rolls of Reynolds Wrap, and maybe no one will even notice your SOB.

We went to an informal rally in Pigeon Forge about 2-3 summers ago; (man how time flies) anyway, we had a great time. There was one Argosy our A/S and one SOB there. A memory we won't forget!
We will be looking forward to meeting everyone there also.
OBTW..Checks in the mail, just waiting on the confirmation now!

That's the answer!
Tin Can, that's the answer! I knew we were Airstreamers in disguise. . .I just hadn't figured out the costume yet. (Our poor put-upon Caravan!) Now I know why I compulsively put in---not one, not two---several BIG rolls of silver duct tape. I just thought I was provisioning for sure-to-happen camp emergencies. Why, we'll come rolling in in our newly-silvered "Squarestream," and who's to know the difference?

Wow, I come home from work and the thread explodes. Just for clarification. Yes the Midwest Forums rally is open to anyone including Airstream wannabe's. Just get your reservation in and be sure to put Airstream group on the form so that you can be placed in our area. Please be sure you let me know once you get your reservation confirmation. As you notice I try to keep that up to date so we know who is coming and where you are at.
Secondly the question about the Bill Thomas rally. He sponsers a big one every other year which recently has been held at the Missouri State fairgrounds in Sedalia Mo. This is the off year and the WBCCI sponsors a state rally on these years. Bill's rally in Sedalia is open to all Airstream owners. No need to be in WBCCI to attend.
Bill is also hosting a rally at his dealership in April. It will be a buddy rally so again it is open to Airstream wannabe's and non WBCCI Airstream owners. For further information about the April rally, check out the Greater St. Louis web site.
www.angelfire.com/mo/stlunit
Hope to see you in June. We have confirmations for 16 sites so far for the forums rally.
Jack

Norbert,
I think I got ya...
I was wondering about the "formalities" of this gathering. I know it is not a sactioned WBCCI meet, but I'm sure there is a loose schedule of events. I will re-read through the thread to try and pick up some clues. We (Wife and family) are planning on gettng down there around noon time on the 11th. To set up the tent (it does have a silver roof) and get setteled in shoud take a couple of hours. So I figure that I should be scouting out the camp grounds by 4 at the latest. Man this is going to be a rush. I think I have an idea of the secret hand shake, but the togas may be an issue with the wife. She likes to keep the sheets on the bed.

I think last year we did a pot luck on Sat. but at this point it is early in the game. Probably in late May we will banter about the trailer tour day and times and pot luck thing.....but understand this is no WBCCI event so nobody has cooking duties, parking duties, funny hat duties or any duties other than having a good time and if you want, sleep late and go to bed early.

Jack you're real temping on making it to that 20 units. I'd like to help you out, but I plan on travling thru that area in early July on the way to a Blacksmith convention in Richmond Ky. In fact I 'll probably make the park my first over night stop from N. Minn. The two trips are just to close together & far away for it to happen. Sure would like to meet up with the Forum group & meet everyone in person. Maybe next year.
Best,

A.E. sorry you can't make it. Don't fear we should be back again. I hope next year to make it up to Minnesota. Its been quite a few years since we've been there.
Regards,
Jack
