For those coming from the St. Louis region, the best route is I55 North. Note though that you do not need to travel through Normal and loop southeast to I 74. Instead take exit 145 for US 136 east. This is a flat 2 lane highway which will take you to I74 a few miles south of LeRoy. Go north on I74 and exit at LeRoy.

Note that there is some road construction on that stretch of I74 but you will only be traveling about 3 miles.

From I 74, Exit #149 at LeRoy. Follow signs into LeRoy. Turn left on US 150 to Casey General Store. Turn Right on LeRoy-Lexington blacktop (County Hwy. 21). North to sign (Moraine View State Park), next Right. Follow road into park, past main entrance to flagpole.

Remember we are in the Gander Bay campground. Upon entering the campground you will check in. Its helpful if you have your reservation form. They will give you some basic navigation instructions and off you go.

Kidding aside for a minute or two....

I have a question.. I usually bring my little dog when we camp. She is VERY little trouble, and LOVES to go. She's NOT a barker. (unless she hears another dog, then she WILL answer)

Of course, I don't know if she'll get talky when we're not there, but she is NOT a yapper.

We have not left her alone in the unit while we go somewhere. I have no reason to worry about our air conditioner, but this weekend we need to go into Bloomington for the Special Olympics and would need to leave Dilly behind in the trailer.

Is there any sort of courtesy where other campers could tell her to be quiet if she barked, and also call us on our cell, (number is on the window) or take her out of the camper if the AC fails?

I would be happy to do that for someone else, if I were around the campground.

RaChelle

RaChelle.

What day are you going? We are in site A9, two sites from yours. Saturday we will be around most of the day caressing my coriander pork, so if you have a real friendly fellow, I don't see why we couldn't baby sit, and even keep her around our site, go for a walk, water and so on. No need to keep her locked up in the AS.

...but you have to come back!!!

Let us know...

Jonathan

We would sooner part with ouir REAL children than Dilly.

But she doesn't like to go for walks; they're more like DRAGS.. she's a donkey in a dog costume. She likes her house, her Dad, ESPECIALLY her Mom, and that's that, and NOT much else. She's a HUGE baby and spoiled, but I don't know who is responsible for doing that. But she hasn't been invited to go visiting before, so who knows?

Thanks for the offer.. stay tuned!

I stuck a picture on here so you can see what you MIGHT get stuck with for an afternoon.... Are you scared???

RaChelle, we are A10, so between Johnathan and us, your little dog should be fine. My daughter just took her Yellow Lab camping for the first time last weekend and said he did fine, much better than she had anticipated. When she left for fishing, she had Jack's kennel (which he is very accustomed to) set up in the camper with the fantastic fan running--said he was sound asleep when she checked and when she returned. Don't worry. You have dog-friendly neighbors who will be glad to help you attend your son's Special Olympics

Maybe I should have rethunk that picture...LOL

OK, I have FOUR TRASH BAGS full of slightly damp Whirly Gigs, that we are bringing and dumping in the back of the truck for the taking. When the basement flooded at the Bug Store, Tony was instructed to throw them away!!! the packaging just has a little water in them, and they are OUTDOOR whirlygigs anyway.

So, we offer them, as our gift to you.... So, some will be excited, some will be delighted, some will pass, and say, NO THANK YOU!!! I don't want that crap.

But we thought you all might find better homes for them than the trash.

Oh, any one into soggy beanie babies???? We've got a bag of them too....

Lol

Our neighbor is moving at the end of the week. He has inserted at least fifteen or twenty of these in his front yard, as a 'going away present' for the people that live there.... They don't much like it...but they've been there since Sat... and not yet removed...LOL
