Question that I MUST ask

I hate to ask this, but I feel I must...

How many of us are doing the Atkins diet and won't eat anything?

Of course, personal opinion is, it only leaves more pasta and potatoes for ME.

Won't eat anything, on Atkins??? Well, then we'll volunteer to bring spinach salad with yummy garnishes in it that are okay on Atkins. We'll also bring beef brisket with our mm-good wine-mushroom-garlic sauce, all okay on Atkins. And we could bring ratatouille, just to work in all the allowed veggies unless someone else wants to do that. We can eat on Atkins and eat well!

Those things sound good!

The reason I asked the question was that my friends just returned from a weekend with THEIR SOB camping club (hate to tell ya what THEY have in common to form the club) and they said that the Atkins people would eat NOTHING. They really did try to accommodate, but didn't know what to do. They brought chicken breast in white wine sauce and wild rice, which they spent a fortune on) and their was a hissy fit thrown over it.

I don't know WHAT I want to bring.. I thought maybe a big bowl of pasta or chili and cornbread. But see???

Changed my mind after reading Panub's list. People have already offered two meats, so in place of the brisket, we'll do boiled shrimp. That makes 2 meats, salmon, and shrimp-a pretty good variety

Keep in mind folks that I have usually considered the meat an entree, which for all intents was for your consumption only. If you want to bring meat as a shared item, that's ok with me. I just wanted to make sure no one felt obligated to bring a meat course.

The advanced forecast is in. Weather for Moraine View next Friday (June 11th) is for scattered thunderstorms.

Saturday and Sunday the forecast is for clear skies. I'll watch closely as the weather forecast gets more defined as the week progresses.

Looks more like a cold front coming through with temps in the low 80's Saturday and Sunday.

I figure we will all get our units cleaned up and end up driving through rain on Friday. If I'm not wrong thats exactly how it was for us last year.

Jack

You are right, Jack, except for that the world is changing quite a lot and LOTS of people are not big meat eaters.

I eat very little meat, but I'm not a vegetarian.

A big fruit salad would be a FINE dinner for me.. so how about we bring that? Of course I want to try everyone else's everything, too.

I see we are on the same diet Norby, I only eat food I see.

Well it looks like we will have an unoffical guest Saturday and Sunday. My neighbor with the 79 Soveriegn just may come down to Moraine VIew, but stay near the lake. Maybe whe can use his trailer as a "Beach house" for when we go swimming. :P
